WWE SmackDown: 3 Superstars who can challenge Bayley for the Women's Championship after SummerSlam

SmackDown Women's Champion, Bayley, successfully defended her title against Ember Moon in a singles match at WWE SummerSlam. Though there was no heat for this feud heading into SummerSlam, the two female superstars gave it all they had and entertained the fans with their performance.

Given that Bayley defeated Moon fair and square, the WWE Universe is excited to see what's next for the Huggable One. Bayley had handpicked Ember Moon as her opponent for SummerSlam, but the question is will she handpick another superstar as her next rival or will a new challenger emerge on SmackDown Live?

Given that WWE's next pay-per-view is Clash of Champions, it is all but guaranteed that Bayley will put her title on the line at the pay-per-view event. Here are the 3 possible superstars who could fight with Bayley for the coveted title.

#3 Liv Morgan

WWE teased pushing Liv Morgan as one of the top female stars of the blue brand last month when they had her argue with Charlotte Flair and then have a match with her. The creative team has also given a new finisher to Morgan, so it will be interesting to see if they give the former Riott Squad member a push after SummerSlam.

Just like Bayley had chosen Ember Moon as her next opponent, she could select the under-appreciated Liv Morgan as her next challenger. Morgan has the potential to be a top star, so a short program with Bayley could help her rise up the ranks.

The creative team also tends to surprise the fans in the post-SummerSlam episodes, and if they decide to crown Morgan as the new #1 contender on this week's SmackDown, it would be a welcome move.

Bayley vs Liv Morgan seems much fresher and can be a good feud if given the right amount of TV time.

#2 Sasha Banks

Before WWE SummerSlam, rumors were rife that Sasha Banks would return at the event to turn on Bayley. However, as we all know, the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion did not return at the biggest party of summer. So, the WWE Creative team may have altered their plans and instead postponed her return to this week's SmackDown Live.

Sasha Banks and Bayley have a lot of history between them. The WWE Universe loves to see both women lock horns, hence, WWE should go ahead with this feud if Sasha is ready to return.

If WWE wants to bring her back the right way, they can have her take part in a #1 contender's match, a bout which she would definitely win. However, the fans want a proper heel vs face feud on SmackDown. Therefore it would only be better if Sasha returns and destroys Bayley to kick off the feud.

#1 Charlotte Flair

Well, I am not a fan of having Charlotte Flair in the title picture ever so often, but one cannot deny the fact that Flair possesses way better in-ring skills than most of the female superstars present in the WWE locker room.

Even though she was not a part of either of the championship bouts at SummerSlam, she managed to have the best match of the night with Trish Stratus.

This proves that Charlotte can carry the division on her shoulders, and given that Bayley had dethroned Flair as the champion to win the title, it makes sense for The Queen to chase the SmackDown Women's title.

If Sasha Banks does not join the blue brand, Flair is the best possible option for Bayley's next opponent. Both superstars have shared the ring on multiple occasions, hence, they have developed great in-ring chemistry as well.
