WWE SmackDown Live preview: November 22nd, 2016

Will Undertaker show up?

The first show of SmackDown after the eventful Survivor Series rolls out this Tuesday night. And just like all the weeks that went by and those that are yet to come, this episode will also have tonnes of questions to answer. The fallout of Survivor Series was what dominated a major portion of Monday Night Raw, and SmackDown tends to go a similar path.

The success story of the Wyatt Family, the possible appearance of the Undertaker and much more could be expected from the show, and in the slides that follow, we are going to take a detailed look at the potential segments for this week’s SmackDown Live.

#5 New tag team contenders

Who will challenge them next?

The SmackDown team of tag teams lost out at Survivor Series against Team Raw. Despite the loss, certain teams had a strong showing, and now, things will get back to normal. The teams would look to tear apart each other to get a shot at the gold and this week on SmackDown, a six tag team match will be on showcase to decide the new contenders for the gold.

The Usos was the last team to be eliminated at Survivor Series, and they would be the front runners to win the match alongside American Alpha. Any other team winning would be a surprise, but considering the recent bookings, it is a possibility.

#4 Will Undertaker show up?

Undertaker said that he is back. But is he really back?

Last week, the Undertaker showed up at the 900th episode of SmackDown and said that he is back. The rumour mills had suggested that Undertaker would take up a more regular role and if that is the case, it wouldn’t be a big shock if he shows up on SmackDown this week.

Undertaker threatened Team SmackDown before Survivor Series, but since the blue brand went on to win, it would be interesting to see what WWE has in plans for Undertaker if he is to appear. Rumoured feuds with Randy Orton, John Cena and AJ Styles have been thrown around, and no matter what which feud WWE chooses, the fans are going to be in for a treat.

#3 Update on Shane McMahon

Fans deserve an update on Shane

Shane McMahon was a last-minute addition to Team SmackDown. He replaced Baron Corbin for the match, but Shane’s night ended early after he suffered a vicious spear from Roman Reigns. Shane was taken backstage with the help of doctors and apparently, he is injured as well.

The videos of Randy Orton consoling Shane’s son at the event soon went viral, and all of a sudden, everyone is interested to see how Shane is feeling. WWE could give an update about Shane’s health on SmackDown, and the segment would be worth tuning into.

If Shane shows up completely fit and ready to take up the next challenge, it would be certain to make headlines.

#2 Wyatt Family ruling

Orton might take a break

The Wyatt Family completely dominated Survivor Series. Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt were crucial for Team SmackDown’s win as the two men shared three eliminations between them. They were the only two survivors for Team SmackDown as well. With such a strong showing in the books, what could be next for Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton?

This is a must-answer question on SmackDown. However, the problem with such a segment would be the rumour about Orton missing out. Orton could be taking a couple of weeks off due to the birth of his child. If he is taking the hiatus, then WWE would have a tough time banking in on the momentum that Wyatt Family created at Survivor Series.

#1 The Styles – Ambrose scenario

Ambrose is back to haunt AJ

The relationship of AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose was a subplot for the Survivor Series match. AJ Styles was a reason Ambrose got eliminated from the match, and the Lunatic Fringe returned the favour when he reunited with his Shield teammates. The Ambrose – Styles feud will resume in full throttle at SmackDown, and they will be heading right into a showdown at TLC.

Daniel Bryan meanwhile has to teach both Ambrose and Styles a lesson, for what they did at Survivor Series and this storyline has the potential to be the main driving force of this week’s SmackDown live. Or else, WWE could simply forget what happened at Survivor Series and let them go at it randomly.
