Tonight’s edition of SmackDown came live from Las Vegas, Nevada loaded with 3 title matches and the confrontation between Kevin Owens and the returning Mr. McMahon.

Kevin Owens kicks off SD Live

Sin City SmackDown kicked off with Kevin Owens and rightfully so. Owens opened the show, coming down to the ring, he announced that he was suing WWE and everyone on the board of directors.

Owens then announced some of the changes he would be making when in-charge. Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton would both have to wear one suit, not the same suit, but both in one suit. He then announced that the Fashion Files would be cancelled.

Owens then called for Mr. McMahon to come down to the ring but Shane McMahon’s music hit. It turned out to be Dolph Ziggler carrying on his imitation gimmick. Owens looked happy that it wasn’t Shane and this was legit the happiest he’s ever looked when seeing Dolph.

After Ziggler had left, Daniel Bryan came out to the ring. KO told Bryan that he had a spot for him as janitor once he ran the show. Bryan warned Owens that Mr. McMahon was on his way to which KO replied that he was ready and waiting.

Jinder Mahal addresses Shinsuke Nakamura

Jinder Mahal came out to a smattering of “Maharaja” chants and he addressed his challenger, Shinsuke Nakamura. Mahal said that to get ready to Nakamura’s challenge, he was getting into Nakamura’s head.

He showed photos of Shinsuke on the titantron and said things like Nakamura looked like he had constipation. Thankfully the segment picked up after this and made a little sense as he accused the fans of already having thought what he was saying about Nakamura.

He warned Nakamura that the fans would never accept him before talking to “his people in his language”. Unfortunately, Nakamura never came out.

We were backstage with Kevin Owens telling a member of the production crew. He was listing out everything he wanted including a private jet and two limos before spotting Sami Zayn. He walked over to Sami and reminded his of the time they had wrestled in front of 42 people and had promised each other that they would do everything in their power so they would never have to do that again.

Owens then told Zayn that when he took over ownership of WWE and fired Zayn, Sami had his permission to go back to wrestling in front of 42 people.

The Usos (C) vs The New Day (Sin City street fight for the SmackDown Tag-Team Championships)

Kofi and Big E were wrestling for New Day tonight. They went right at The Usos as action immediately spilled out to ringside. E and Kofi took the Usos down before setting up a table. The Usos took Kofi out after the table was set up before double-teaming Big E, sending him head first into the ring-post.

We came back from commercial to see The Usos in complete control, with Big E down in the corner. One of the Usos charged at Big E, who dodged him. He then caught a chair tossed at him before the other Uso hit him with a Superkick.

The Usos then went to work on Big E with a kendo stick as they took turns to dish out punishment. Kofi came in at this point and hit Jimmy Usos with the SOS before hitting Jey with a spin kick to the midsection. Kofi picked up the kendo stick and destroyed the Usos single-handedly. Even breaking the kendo stick.

After dumping Jey out of the ring, Kofi headed to the top rope and tossed a chair at Jimmy. When Jimmy caught it, Kofi hit a double stomp from the top rope through it. After Jimmy rolled out of the ring, Kofi just tossed the chair at him.

Kingston then headed to the top rope and leaped off but got caught in midair by The Usos and tossed into the barricade. Big E then got back into the math as he tossed The Usos around the ring before hitting a double splash. He followed it by tossing Jey Uso out of the ring before Jimmy rolled him up for the nearfall.

E then hit Jimmy with the Big Ending for a nearfall before eating a double Superkick from The Usos. The Usos then went for the double Frog Splash but Kofi pushed Jey off and through the table they’d set up earlier. Kofi then hit Jimmy with an Enzeguiri before Big E and Kofi hit the Midnight Hour for the win. The New Day are 4-time Tag-Team Champions. Another incredible match from these two teams.

Natalya went for the Sharpshooter but she got taken out of the ring. James Ellsworth and Carmella tried to intervene but Naimi hit them with a springboard dive. Natalya took advantage and sent Naomi head-first into the ring before rolling her into the ring and locking in a Sharpshooter for the win.

Zack Ryder wasn’t happy after the match. He refused to shake hands with Gable and Benjamin and stormed off.

Kevin Owens confronts Vince McMahon

After calling Vince McMahon, Owens asked him if he could call him Vince. Owens then told Vince that he felt intimidated, to which Vince replied that the feeling was nauseated.

Vince then told KO that he had disparaged the McMahon name last week which led to Shane McMahon beating the hell out of him. Vince then told Owens he was a coward because he was suing because he thought he had the upper hand on Shane.

Vince then told Owen what would happen if he filed the lawsuit. He’d heard the words “you’re fired”. This led to a ‘Yes’ chant from the fans in attendance. Vince then warned Owens that he’d never lost a lawsuit because people like him had an advantage with the law.

Vince then said there was a B next to his name – billionaire – and the only B next to Owens’ name would be – bankrupt – by the time the lawsuit came around. Vince then told KO that he’d suspended Shane not for hitting Owens, but for not finishing the job.

Vince then added that there wouldn’t be a lawsuit but a match – Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens inside Hell In A Cell. Owens agreed on the condition that he wouldn’t be fired if he beat a McMahon senseless.

Owens then went to shake Vince’s hand before headbutting the chairman. Owens then kicked him across the gut before referees came out to stop him. Owens hit Vince with a superkick before he disposed of the referees and hit Vince with a Frog Splash.

Owens then left and as he was leaving, Stephanie came out and stared him down.
