Daniel Bryan kicked off tonight's show and announced the six-man tag team main event. Shane McMahon, though, was looking for answers and came out to confront Bryan.

Shane recalled the RKO from Randy Orton which almost had Sami Zayn pinned that would have led to KO and Sami to be fired. Shane recounted the chaotic final moments from the match and said that while he wanted to discuss his actions during the match, Bryan took advantage and did the fast count.

Daniel explained that he did whatever he did to save Shane from himself and mentioned that he didn't want Shane to turn into his father.

The fans chanted "who's your daddy?" as McMahon wised Bryan all the luck for a good show and made his way backstage.

#2 The Usos vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable (Non-title match)

The match began with Gable taking a lot of punishment as the Usos displayed classic tag team psychology with some quick tags. Gable rolled out of the ring to avoid further damage as SmackDown went into a commercial break. Back from the break, Benjamin has assumed control of the match.

He exchanged a few tags with Gable before Jey Uso got the better of Gable with a Samoan Drop followed by a running hip attack in the corner. Jey caught Gagle with the superkick and just when you thought the champs were about to get the job done with the five-star frog splash, Benjamin connected with a knee. Gable followed it up with his trademark German suplexes to set up the double team finisher.

Benjamin covered and got the three-count. A big win over the champions for Gable and Benjamin, who weirdly worked the match as heels.

Charlotte was out next as she addressed the historic Women's Royal Rumble match and her win over Natalya this past Sunday. A video package aired recapping Stephanie McMahon's monumental announcement on Raw and how overwhelmed the entire roster was irrespective of their characters and alignments.

Charlotte congratulated the talent backstage and also credited the fans for such a major change. She ended by saying she would happily defend the strap against whoever won the Rumble.

Naomi's music hit and the glowing former champion came out and announced herself for the Rumble and also made her title aspirations clear. Next up was the Riott Squad, who marched down the ring in a bid to make a statement. Naomi challenged any of the two members to a match with her and Charlotte right there. #5 A tepid celebration

<p>

The celebrations of sorts didn't feel like one at all as the Show-Off came out to no entrance music but to a massive pop as 'you deserve it' chants echoed around the arena. He shut the fans down with an 'I told you so'.

He then went on to highlight his championship accomplishments in WWE that included 2 reigns with the US title, 5 times with the IC title, his MITB win and the iconic successful cash-in on Alberto Del Rio; a video highlights package aired encompassing all those moments.

Ziggler was frustrated at the lack of respect he commanded and said he was the most decorated performer in WWE's history. He continued to berate the fans as he didn't find them worthy of his time.

He said that he would do something for the fans to remember him and left the title in the ring before walking away. Is this the end of Dolph Ziggler as we know it? Has he relinquished the championship?

#6 Aiden English & Rusev vs. Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston

The Christmas battle was up next as English and Rusev looked to get a big win over the longest reigning tag team champions in history. New Day made their entrances first dressed up in Christmas-themed onesies.

Rusev and English were up next and the fans completely lost it. Rusev Day chants drowned out any fraction of sound in the arena as Machka and his sidekick were insanely over.

Kofi and Woods get the better of Rusev and English and pen up Rusev's bag of gifts. They began tossing Rusev Day t-shirts in the crowd but were in for a rude surprise when a brief with Happy Rusev Day written all over it embarrassingly emerged from the bag.

Rusev and English took advantage and blindsided the duo as we cut into a commercial break. 'We want pancakes' chant reverberated across the arena as Big E obliged and tossed a handful in the crowd.

English got hit with a running dropkick to the back of the neck by Woods. English came back strong with the spinebuster. They cleared the announcer's table as Rusev placed he pancakes on the table with some whipped cream over it. A cherry on top and it was all set for Woods' face to get painted. However, as expected, English was the on who eventually got a taste of the pancake. Kofi took Rusev out while Woods got English back in the ring and delivered the elbow drop for the win.

#6 Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura & AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal, Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens

All the competitors made their respective entrances for the star-studded six-man main event. The babyfaces began the match on the offensive a they dominated over Sami Zayn. After an all-out brawl between the six men on the outside, normalcy was restored and Zayn was isolated by Orton, Styles and Nakamura, who exchanged quick tags and exhumed some well-oiled chemistry.

The momentum shifted in the heels' favour as Owens got the better of Orton. Orton was seen reeling under the pressure as SmackDown went into a break.

Owens had Orton in a headlock as we returned. He created some separation and made the tag to Styles. Styles came in hot but immediately gets shut down by a smart assist from Jinder Mahal.

Owens took advantage and pinned the WWE champion down with a knee onto the ropes. He tagged Zayn in, who unleashes a host of Muhammad Ali-esque jabs.

Styles finally shifted the scales in his team's favor when he stunned Mahal with a tornado DDT and made the hot tag to the King of Strong Style. Nakamura looked pumped up as he clobbered Zayn's chest with some well-placed kicks. He punished Zayn with some brutal knees followed by the eccentric corner kick. He got a two-count for the running knee to the gut. Zayn showed great resiliency by kicking out of some really close pinfalls.

He locked in the armbar and just when you though Zayn would tap, Owens came and broke up the hold. The Singh Brothers got involved in the match too as they looked to blindside Nakamura. The referee spotted the attempted interference and ordered them to get back to the locker room.

A fuming Orton had other ideas as he executed the double DDT on the brothers. Vintage Orton. Styles connected with the Phenomenal Forearm on Owens with Orton giving hm a much-needed push mid-air. The legal man, Sami Zayn eventually got knocked out by the Kinshasa. Pinfall. 1-2-3!
