WWE SmackDown Live Results 1st May 2018, Latest SmackDown winners and video highlights

The go-home show for WWE Backlash wasn't the best episode of SmackDown but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination.

It featured Miz TV with Jeff Hardy, The Bar's first SmackDown appearance as well as a huge 6-woman main-event.

Miz TV with Jeff Hardy

This week's SmackDown kicked off with Miz TV with the US Champion Jeff Hardy as the special guest.

Miz starts off by saying that Daniel Bryan is banned from Miz TV for no-showing last week before turning his attention to Jeff Hardy.

Hardy and Miz took shots at each other and Hardy laughed at Miz for losing at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Orton's music hit next and he came out next and said that he was going to win back his US title from Jeff Hardy at Backlash.

Shelton Benjamin came out next demanding a title shot and this all led to a tag-team match.

The match was in progress when we returned from commercial. Hardy and Benjamin are legal but Orton soon tags himself in. He went back and forth with Benjamin before attempting and RKO unsuccessfully.

Miz tagged himself in soon before Hardy tagged himself in. Hardy went for a Twist of Fate but Miz blocked it. Miz tried to roll Hardy up but only got a 2-count. Benjamin tags himself in and got hit with a Swanton Bomb but Miz placed his foot on the bottom rope to break the count.

Following the break, Hardy crawled and tagged in Randy Orton just as it looked like their team was in a spot of bother. Orton came in and laid out Miz and Benjamin.

We got a backstage segment with Rusev and Lana next. Lana hinted that Aiden English was holding Rusev back.

Big Cass calls out "Daniel Bryan"

Big Cass is out next. He said that being from New York he carried negative stereotypes, like New Yorkers being better than people from other cities. Cass added that he was better than everyone in the audience and Daniel Bryan.

Cass said that he didn't need a wrist lock or a YES lock to win, before calling Daniel Bryan out so he could kick his teeth in.

With Daniel Bryan not ready to complete, we got a mini-version of Daniel Bryan coming out to meet Cass.

Cass introduced the mini-Bryan as a Montreal native before booting him in the head to end the segment.

AJ Styles calls out Shinsuke Nakamura

Renee Young invited AJ Styles out to the ring. She asked him about Paige changing their match to a No DQ match.

Renee tells AJ that Nakamura wants a public apology from him, and laughed it off.AJ then replied that it was an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth before adding that when it was over, low blows would be the last of Nakamura's problems.

Samoa Joe's music hit and that was clearly not what AJ Styles was expecting.

Joe said that he would beat Roman at Backlash and stop him from complaining for good because as he remembered it, the referee's decision was final.

Nakamura's music hit and even Joe got taken aback. The camera panned to AJ and we saw Nakamura hit him with another low blow. He followed it up with a Kinshasa for good measure.

Xavier Woods vs Sheamus

The Bar finally made their SmackDown debut although only Sheamus was in action. A backstage segment between New Day and The Bar earlier in the night led to this match.

Sheamus dumps Woods in the corner but the smaller Woods hits back with a knee strike followed by a running dropkick. Woods uses his speed advantage but Sheamus eventually takes him down.

Sheamus tosses Woods across the ring before hitting Woods with the Irish Curse Backbreaker.

Things broke down at ringside at this point. Cesaro and Big E came to blows after which Sheamus attacked Woods outside and threw him against the barrier.

Sheamus looked like he was about to finish Woods up, but he got rolled up inside the ring.

Asuka, Charlotte and Becky Lynch vs Carmella and the IIconics

The main-event was the best match of the night. it was one of the more interesting 6-woman tag matches we've seen recent;y and featured a number of great spots. The main story of the match was Charlotte trying to get her hands on Carmella.

Becky made the hot-tag, letting Charlotte have a go at Carmella. She took Carmella down with the chops before suplexing both Kay and Royce. She followed it up with a back drop to Carmella.

Royce came back and had a chokehold locked in on Charlotte. The Queen looked to be fading but made her way back to her feet and tagged in Asuka.

Asuka came in like a house on fire, taking everyone down as things broke down. Charlotte hit Kay and Carmella with a Moonsault as Asuka put Peyton Royce in the Asuka Lock. Royce tapped out.
