The Wyatt Family vs. Dean Ambrose, Kane and James Ellsworth (Six-man tag team match)
All the men made their respective entrances with AJ Styles on commentary. Kane and Harper kicked things off with the big men jockeying for position. After a brief exchange of moves, the Wyatts get the better of the faces.
The fans chant ‘we want Ellsworth’ but Kane can’t give them what they want as he was taking a lot of punishment from the reformed Wyatts in the corner. The Wyatts made frequent tags and kept up the pressure on The Demon as SmackDown went into a commercial break. Harper was still on top of Kane with a side headlock. Kane looked to fight back but gets caught by a Harper superkick to take things back to square one.
Orton gets tagged in, who lock Kane up in a headlock. The routine spot follows where Kane breaks out but couldn’t capitalize due to Orton’s dropkick. Kane, though, counters Orton’s Irish Whip into a running DDT to create some separation. He made the hot tag to Ambrose, who wanted Ellsworth instead.
The Lunatic Fringe was fired up as he went on to clear the ring. A suicide dive to the outside, followed by an attempted elbow from the top rope amped up the pace of the match. Wyatt catches Ambrose and looked for the Sister Abigail, but Ambrose counters. Ambrose and Wyatt hit each other with a double Lariat and Ellsworth was waiting on the apron for the hot tag.
Ambrose doesn’t reach out for the tag but looked spent. The fans urge Ellsworth to tag himself and he does so after some obvious reluctance. The Yes chants drowned the arena and erupted when he finally made the tag. Ellsworth looked fired up with a No Chin Music attempt, but Wyatt ducks and delivers the Sister Abigail for the win.
Result: The Wyatt Family def. Dean Ambrose, James Ellsworth and Kane
After the match, the Wyatts smelled blood and looked to administer a beatdown on Ambrose and co. Shane McMahon runs out to calm things down, followed by Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan reveals he was there to announce the fifth member and Baron Corbin’s replacement for Survivor Series. He said that there were many names at his disposal, but one name stood out and that was the SmackDown Live Commissioner, Shane McMahon.
The fans erupt in joy and Shane McMahon does the yes chant confirming his participation. And just like that, Shane McMahon is the fifth and final member of team SmackDown!
The commentary team plugged next week’ show– the 900th Smackdown episode that would see Miz vs. Ziggler for the IC title, Edge’s Cutting Edge segment and The Undertaker’s return.
