The New Day are no longer allowed to share pancakes with the WWE Universe

What's the story?

Audience interaction has always been a huge part of The New Day's gimmick, but WWE looks to have made the decision to stop the trio involving the WWE Universe in their segments as much.

In case you didn't know...

Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E have all evolved as characters over the past few years. This has seen them go from heels to faces and back again as well as dishing out Booty O's to the WWE Universe from their own unique cereal boxes before they were changes into pancake sharing stars instead.

The audience has always involved themselves in the trio's entrance, but it appears that the pancakes and the Booty O sharing days could now be over for The New Day.

The heart of the matter

This week's episode of SmackDown Live is due to go out on New Year's Day, but it was pre-recorded ahead of time, which is where Kingston, Woods and Big E were able to reveal that they were no longer allowed to share their baked treats with the WWE Universe as part of their entrance.

Pancakes have played a huge part in the trio's gimmick in recent months and it's unknown as to why this change has happened now, but all three stars appear to be taking it seriously. The trio stated at the time that it was "by doctors orders."

What's next?

This could be a hint that The New Day could be looking to change their characters in the near future, a heel turn would mean that Kingston, Woods and Big E would no longer need to interact with the WWE Universe, but the direction of this most recent change is currently unknown.
