A WWE superstar might announce retirement from wrestling on the 10th anniversary event of The New Day faction on the December 2 edition of Monday Night RAW. He's Big E, the third member of the New Day group who has been out of action for more than two and a half years now.
Big E suffered an injury on the March 11, 2022, edition of SmackDown when he accidentally landed on the top of his head after belly-to-belly a suplex from Ridge Holland. The 38-year-old superstar ended up breaking his neck and also got fractures in his C1 and C6 vertebrae. The injury hasn't allowed the former WWE Champion to return to wrestling since then.
Neck injuries are career-threatening, and in the past, superstars like Adam Copeland (FKA Edge), Daniel Bryanson (Daniel Bryan), Santino Marella, and Stone Cold Steve Austin have had to quit wrestling due to lingering neck issues.
Big E might be the next superstar to announce his retirement from in-ring wrestling, as he might not have been medically cleared. The former WWE Champion spoke up on his return three months ago, saying that it's hard to tell if he would be able to wrestle again, as his neck hasn't yet healed completely.
“We’ll see (if I could ever wrestle again). Right now, my neck is just not ossifying. It’s not turning into new bone quite yet. It is kind of healing fibrously. So it’s all connected and it’s no fear that if I were pushed too hard or if I were bumped, anything would happen. None of that. But I’m not really in a position right now to be cleared, medically, because of the nature of what we do is very physical and taking bumps requires you to have a rock-solid neck. So, we’ll see what the future holds," Big E said. [H/T: Post Wrestling]
Big E might return to WWE and ask Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to stick together
The former WWE Champion might also return and break the truce between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, as there have been significant tensions between them in the past few weeks.
The two haven't been on the same page lately, and they have also been losing matches due to miscommunication. This week on RAW, the duo lost to The Alpha Academy, and they had a heated exchange backstage.
Big E might return on the big day of The New Day's 10th anniversary and ask them to settle their differences and work as a team. And who knows? Big E might throw up a challenge to The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the WWE World Tag Team Championship match.
It remains to be seen what Big E says on the New Day's anniversary event.
