Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed created a highlight moment on the September 16 episode of RAW, as their match never actually started after they broke the ring. The incident happened when The Monster of All Monsters got in the ring and sent Reed to the turnbuckle, leading to the ring's collapse.
Their fight continued outside and backstage, ending in chaos as Braun Strowman speared Bronson Reed through a drywall. This is not the first time a ring has broken on RAW. The last time it happened was seven years ago, in 2017, when Strowman took on The Big Show.
Braun delivered a superplex from the top rope, and the ring collapsed, offering fans a highlight moment. The Big Show has been involved in similar incidents two more times, breaking the ring during his matches with Mark Henry (2011) and Brock Lesnar (2003), respectively.
The Big Show explains why the ring broke in a match with Braun Strowman on RAW in 2017
As we said, the last time a ring broke on RAW, The Big Show faced Braun Strowman. The match never ended, and the two superstars needed assistance to leave the ring.
A few years ago, The Big Show opened up about what happened and why the ring collapsed.
"WWE’s then Stunt Coordinator had airbags under the ring. So they had lifted the ring a couple inches. When I’m standing on that top corner, that ring is like standing on marbles. Because it’s moving. Of course now I’ve got my fat a** up in the air, 500 pounds on a not very stable surface. So then the ring broke. You don’t know how the stunt is going to look," The Big Show told Chris Jericho on his podcast (h/t Talk is Jericho podcast).
It remains to be seen if Braun's actions on Monday will result in a fine and whether he will have a rematch with Bronson Reed.
