WWE has suspended the former champion Roman Reigns for 30 days for violating the company’s talent wellness policy. The WWE has been quite strict with this policy, especially in the wake of the Benoit murder/suicide and a glut of wrestler deaths.

After the news broke out, Reigns tweeted “I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it."

The three-time WWE World Heavyweight champion lost his title to Seth Rollins at the Money in the Bank PPV. Earlier today on Monday Night Raw, Shane McMahon announced that both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will take on the WWE World Heavyweight champion Dean Ambrose for the title at WWE Battleground on July 24, 2016.

Now with this, the Shield triple-threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship at WWE Battleground is in jeopardy.

There are speculations that the suspension is a part of the storyline as this gives WWE a chance for having the much-anticipated Shield triple-threat match at Summerslam instead of Battleground.
