Randy Orton is set to face Kofi Kingston for his WWE Championship at the upcoming edition of SummerSlam. It wouldn't be farfetched to say that The Viper is arguably the fiercest of all the men that Kofi has faced since becoming the champion.

Back in 2010, Randy Orton began a rivalry with Sheamus, as the two were often found competing against each other for the big prize, the WWE Championship. The Celtic Warrior was taking giant strides towards becoming the alpha dog on Raw, but a certain Viper was determined to obstruct his path.

The two had a grueling battle at SummerSlam in 2010 for Sheamus' WWE title. Orton was utterly brilliant throughout the match, as he delivered his signature moves to perfection and looked set to become the new champion.

Sheamus had his moments, but the Irishman was on the brink of losing his title when his shrewd tactics intervened and cost Randy Orton the championship.

Sheamus successfully hit Randy Orton with a thunderous Brogue Kick, but that didn't do the trick as The Viper managed to kick out. This caused Sheamus bring a steel chair to his rescue. The referee disqualified the Irishman and gave Randy Orton the win, but the title remained with The Celtic Warrior.

An enraged Orton unleashed his fury upon Sheamus who then received an earth-shattering RKO from the Viper right on the announcer's table.

#4 Battle with The Deadman - SummerSlam 2005

Randy Orton was one of the hottest young stars on the roster back in 2005, and all eyes were on him simply because he was too good to resist. He famously feuded with The Undertaker that year as the two battled each other on numerous occasions.

Odds were stacked against The Viper simply because Orton was one of the budding Superstars, whereas The Undertaker was one of the top attractions of the company. But as it usually is with WWE, surprises lie at every corner, and this match was no different, as Randy Orton managed to beat The Undertaker, courtesy of interference caused by his father, Bob Orton Jr.

The Orton duo somehow managed to slay The Deadman who was pinned following a clean RKO thus giving Randy Orton a monumental victory over Taker at the biggest party of summer.

History was made in 2004 when Randy Orton became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion of all-time by defeating Chris Benoit in the main event of SummerSlam.

The two fought in a high-octane matchup which was undoubtedly the best match of the PPV. Chris Benoit had enjoyed an incredible reign, as he defeated many big names during his time as World Champion.

Both Randy Orton and Chris Benoit gave it all as they together put on a spectacle that remains fresh the memory of ardent fans of the company. Chris Benoit dominated the early proceedings of the match and the submission expert very nearly retained his title but Randy Orton managed to execute a thunderous RKO on Benoit to leave the arena as the new World Heavyweight Championship.

The Viper defeated Chris Benoit the following night on Raw to retain his title.

Randy Orton and John Cena have had many classics between them, and one such classic happened in 2009 when these two legendary performers competed at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship.

The match had numerous eye-catching moments as both Orton and Cena performed incredibly well to give the WWE Universe a show to remember. Randy Orton was the top heel during that time and his villainous persona was perfectly portrayed when Randy Orton intentionally got himself counted out. This didn't sit well with Vince McMahon, who restarted the match and gave the Cenation something to cheer about.
