Kevin Owens and Finn Balor have a storied history in NXT

Finn Balor was one of the misused stars on the main roster throughout his stay, despite being a former Universal Champion, The Demon King was never able to get himself into any kind of stride on Raw or SmackDown. Which is why it made sense for him to head back to NXT following his SummerSlam defeat and reinvent himself.

Balor has since been able to become the star he once was in front of the FullSail Crowd and could now steal the show at War Games, which is something that he was never able to do on the main roster.

Owens has had his own struggles on the main roster and it's shown throughout this time there, which could be why the former Champion could be looking to follow in his old friend Finn Balor's footsteps and return to the division where he first found fame.

Owens and Balor once had a fantastic feud in NXT over the main Championship and being able to ignite that a few years later could be an offer that Owens would find hard to resist.
