Yesterday, we notified you that WWE suspended former World Champion, Alberto Del Rio and the former Divas Champion, Paige due to violation of the company’s Talent Wellness Policy. The first violation results in a 30 days suspension while the second failure extends it to 60 days.
If the same wrestler fails the Policy for a third time, his/her contract with WWE will be immediately terminated.
After the sudden death of Eddie Gurrero in 2006, WWE modified this policy and it was announced in 2009, that any news regarding the violation of this program will be made public.
And after Roman Reigns, Del Rio and Paige, it seems that another WWE Superstar has been suspended in a short span of time.
WWE announced that The Total Divas and WWE SmackDown star, Eva Marie, will be penalised with a 30 days suspension for violating WWE’s Wellness policy for the first time.
Some sources claim that she was informed about her suspension today afternoon.
Why was Eva Marie Suspended?
WWE issued the following statement to confirm the news :
STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has suspended Natalie Coyle (Eva Marie) for 30 days effective immediately for her first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.
Eva was drafted to SmackDown Live during the recent WWE Draft. After a hiatus from the main roster, she made her return to SmackDown on July 26. Despite returning to the blue brand last month, Eva hasn’t been involved in a wrestling match yet.
Prior to this announcement, she was supposed to be involved in a tag match at WWE SummerSlam, the biggest ever of the Summer. Eva Marie was scheduled to team up with Natalya and Alexa Bliss against the team of Becky Lynch, Carmella and Naomi in a 6 women tag team match.
Of course, the suspension may result in the change of that match stipulation and WWE is expected to announce it soon.
Eva wrestled at this year’s WrestleMania in a 10 women Tag team match. This match marked the last wrestling match for Brie Bella. At the grandest stage, team Total Divas consisting of Brie Bella, Paige, Eva Marie, Natalya and Alicia Fox defeated the team of Naomi, Tamina, Summer Rae, Emma and Lana.
From the recent editions of SmackDown, it can be noted that All Red Everything herself, was booked in a rivalry with the Irish Lass Kicker, Becky Lynch. There were even rumors that the two will face each other to crown a new Women’s Champion for the blue brand.
This suspension, however, may play an important role in changing those ideas of the creative team.
