Real reason revealed behind Brie Bella's Divas title shot

Brie Bella vs Charlotte – a placeholder feud until WM 32 – is set to feature on the Fastlane card

The planned match between Brie Bella and Divas Champion Charlotte was to take place on February 21st at the Fastlane pay-per-view but happened prematurely in a non-title match last night due to a strategic decision by the WWE.

According to PWInsider, WWE initiated the change due to the feeling of sympathy towards Brie’s sister Nikki, who went under the knife for a neck injury and is currently out of action, as well as the potential excitement a feud between Brie vs Charlotte could generate due to the duo both contestants on the WWE reality series – Total Divas.

WWE envisions Brie vs Charlotte as a short feud and has no plans to keep it running during and after the conclusion of WrestleMania 32.

Brie is more than capable of holding her own against Charlotte, with the former a one-time holder of the Divas Championship as well as the winner of Diva of the Year back in 2013 along with sister Nikki.

Charlotte’s challenger for the title during WrestleMania 32 is still unannounced, but if the observations are anything to go by, then her potential competitor will most likely be Sasha Banks. Before that, though, the Divas Champion would defend her title against Brie Bella at Fastlane.
