WWE News: Is politics the next step for The Rock?

The Rock playing US President Barack Obama in SNL

Moving on from a hugely successful wrestling career to become one of the top Hollywood box-office draws in the world, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has served as a trailblazer as far converting the pro-wrestling popularity into mainstream traction is concerned.

And if the man is to be believed, he doesn’t plan on stopping there.

In an exclusive interview published in the latest issue of GQ UK, Dwayne Johnson opens up on how playing ‘The Rock’ has been his greatest role till date and if he sees himself in a political capacity in the future reports Wrestlinginc.

When quizzed about his political aspirations, the Rock had this to say:

I'll be honest, I haven't ruled politics out. I'm not being coy when I say that, but at the moment, I am not sure. I can't deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people's lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first."

If fans recall, the Rock has enacted US President Barack Obama before in a skit on Saturday Night Live.

Could it ultimately prove to be prophetic in nature?
