TNA/WWE News: Billy Corgan says he's seen proof of TNA’s sale discussions with WWE

The Chairman vs The President?

Before TNA's Bound for Glory pay-per-view event, there were rumours that WWE would purchase the wrestling promotion. However, TNA has denied such rumours from time to time. The Chairman herself has commented that she won’t let WWE buy TNA.

Interestingly, TNA President, Billy Corgan, has stated that the company was in discussions with WWE regarding a possible sale. Although the executives have denied any relation with WWE, Corgan claims to have seen proof.

Corgan mentioned that TNA’s Chief Financial Officer, Dean Broadhead, had assured him that the rumours about WWE purchasing TNA were false. However, the defendant’s production documents show that “certain due diligence materials that WWE had requested” were sent by Broadhead himself to WWE.

Apparently, when Carter and WWE were in talks, the latter had asked about Corgan’s role in the negotiations. Corgan claims that he saw an e-mail from Dixie that undervalued his role within TNA.

Moreover, she insisted that the current TNA President would not have any role whatsoever in this deal as she intends “to pay the loan back in full, plus interest prior to selling the company.”

TNA's legal team has counter-attacked the accusations of Corgan, by stating that he has used his loan as a way to become the company's president.

Moreover, the lawyer added that Corgan had made several attempts in the past to make himself the sole manager of Impact. He even accused the current TNA President of attempts to, “prevent Ms Salinas (Carter) from selling her controlling interest in the company to anyone else.”

Billy Corgan was named the President of TNA in August 2016 and has been portraying the same role on-screen. Here’s a video of Corgan playing his role in the ring:
