#2 Title changes and highlights from the Show

The creator of this triumphed at WrestleMania 2

The first title match of the night at New York was between Randy Savage (c) and George Steele for the Intercontinental Championship in which Savage defended his IC title against Steele. Savage managed to grab the victory and eventually there was no title change.

The title match at Chicago took place between The Fabulous Moolah (c) and Velvet McIntyre for the WWE Women's Championship in which Moolah defended her title against McIntyre and was successful in her defence as she grabbed a quick win in just 01 minute 25 seconds.

The second title match from Chicago featured The British Bulldogs and The Dream Team for the WWE Tag Team Championship. This was also the main-event at Chicago, in which, The Bulldogs put on a great fight and defeated the latter to win the Tag titles and became the new Champs.

Yet another interesting match from the show was the 20-man Battle Royal in which Andre the Giant remained the last man inside the ring eliminating Bret Hart. The very interesting fact here is that this match also featured some famous NFL players of that time.

#1 The Main Event

Steel Cage match at WrestleMania 2 in 1986! Imagine

The blockbuster main event from all the three venues combined was between King Kong Bundy and Hulk Hogan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This match was held inside a steel cage with Bundy being accompanied by Bobby Heenan, his manager.

Bundy launched a vicious attack on Hogan and repeatedly targeted his injured ribs, but Hogan used the Steel cage to his advantage and blasted Bundy’s head into the cage a few times. He then made a failed attempt of a ‘Scoop Slam’ which Bundy capitalized on, and delivered an ‘Avalanche’ which was followed up with a big splash.

The injured Hogan, however, hulked up and delivered a power slam and a leg drop in quick succession. Hogan started climbing the cage to escape, but Bundy caught his legs. But, the Hulk wasn’t to be deterred and he kicked Bundy to climb out of the cage.

With this, Hulk Hogan retained the WWF title, but the action was not over yet as Hogan didn’t spare Heenan from a beatdown – who was standing outside the ring.
