There was a moment when the WWE could’ve made a match which would make every wrestling fan across the planet giddy with anticipation and ensure that WrestleMania 33 would be an unmissable event – When AJ Styles didn’t have a storyline going into Mania, to make him square off against The Undertaker.
It’s a match that promotes itself due to the incredible ability of both men. The story also writes itself as the man who has embodied the WWE for over two decades decides to teach the outsider who has come into his home a lesson.
Even in his advanced age, by squaring off against someone like AJ Styles ensures that Taker will have a fantastic match with which to bid farewell. Styles doesn’t even need to win the match to become an even bigger star.
As a bonus, the WWE can turn AJ into a full-fledged babyface with a simple gesture such as a handshake at the end of the match.
