Honestly, this is the primary reason why this match is happening. Like it or not, WrestleMania is usually the culmination of a year's worth of storylines, that reach their logical conclusion. One can equate the same to a season finale in a TV show. The Kurt Angle and Baron Corbin storyline has never reached its logical conclusion.

Stephanie McMahon appointed Baron Corbin to be her instrument of terror, the heel counterpoint to babyface Kurt Angle as an authority figure on RAW. Corbin abused his power and even appointed Alexa Bliss as his own heel authority figure.

Kurt Angle has returned since then but never had the chance to truly bring this storyline to a close in a manner that will satisfy almost everyone. Sure, there have been some TV matches between them, but the feud has lacked the one conclusive moment that it's needed.

Kurt Angle's career and this feud will both come to a fitting climax at WrestleMania 35.
