The buildup to the Women's Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania was seemingly about Tamina and her recent surge in popularity. Tamina was almost able to pin Nia Jax ahead of the show on the final episode of SmackDown, but Shayna Baszler was able to save her partner from the humiliation.
The kickoff show panel looked at Tamina's chances of becoming Women's Tag Team Champion at WrestleMania alongside Natalya, a former Women's Champion in her own right. The panel noted that they believed that Tamina would be able to pick up her first piece of gold in WWE at the biggest show of the year.
The issue here is that Tamina has won gold before, she is a former 24/7 Champion, and none of the stars who were part of the kickoff show noted that this would be her first piece of Women's Championship gold, which means that her short reign as champion must have been forgotten.
