‘Taker’s last ‘Mania turns out to be very emotional

WrestleMania 33 kicked off with the hosts of the ‘Ultimate Thrill Ride’ – The New Day. They came out and hyped the show before and stating how honoured they were to be the hosts.

Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles

Shane McMahon and AJ Styles both received massive pops from the fans as they came down to the ring. The crowd were raucous as the match started with duelling chants filling the Camping World Champion.

AJ gestured to the fans that Shane wasn’t on his league before they locked up with Shane getting AJ in a side headlock. AJ hit back with a snapmare before mocking the Shane O’ Mac Shuffle.

Shane got back to his feet soon enough as chants of “AJ Styles” filled the building. Shane then hit multiple armdrags before rolling AJ up which looked to stun AJ a bit as he rolled out of the ring.

AJ got back into the ring and feigned a lock up before punching Shane across the face. Shane hit back with a trademark combo of punches before AJ dumped Shane out of the ring to buy some time. As Shane got back to his feet, AJ hit him with a sliding dropkick that sent him crashing over the announcer’s table.

AJ then slammed Shane’s head into the mat before the action went back into the squared circle. AJ hit Shane with a variety of strikes and kicks as chants of “AJ Styles” broke out again. Styles then hit Shane with a running forearm in the corner before Shane kicked Styles with a Superkick across the gut.

AJ looked to hit the Phenomenal Forearm but Shane quickly reached the ropes and sent AJ crashing into the mat. Shane then landed more of his tradermark jabs and followed it up with a jumping back elbow. Shane then hit a modified Angle Slam for a 2-count as Shane was somehow in complete control.

AJ soon recovered and hit an Ushi Goroshi to Shane and followed it up with an attempt at a Styles Clash. Shane powered out of it but AJ transitioned into a Calf Crusher. Shane transitioned the Styles Clash into an armbar which he transitioned into a Rings Of Saturn.

Both men then collided into each other in the middle of the ring and both of them went down. AJ then hit Shane with a Stunned against the top rope before looking for a 450 splash. Shane caught AJ as he came down and locked in a Triangle Hold. AJ then deadlifted Shane and hit a Styles Clash. Shane somehow kicked out before the 3-count.

The two men slowly made it back to their feet and trade strikes before Shane hit AJ with a series of Muay Thai knees. AJ then kicked the ref by mistake before hitting Shane with an enzeguiri.

AJ then took out a trash can and set Shane up for a Coast to Coast. As AJ went to hit it from the top rope Shane smashed the trash can into AJ’s face. He then looked to set AJ up for the Coast to Coast. Shane nailed it and hit AJ perfectly. AJ kicked out at the last second.

AJ then went to ringside and cleared the announcer’s table. He then dumped Styles on it and headed up to the top rope as the referee slowly got up. AJ moved out of the way at the last second as Shane crashed through the announcer’s table.

AJ then went for a Phenomenal Forearm which Shane reversed into a DDT. Shane went for a Shooting Star but AJ moved out of the way as Shane landed face-first into the mat.

AJ took advantage and finally connected with a Phenomenal Forearm before finally pinning Shane McMahon.
