Let's continue this list with number 10.

#10 Steamboat beats Randy Savage for the Intercontinental Title - WrestleMania 3

One of the best matches in WrestleMania history!
One of the best matches in WrestleMania history!

WrestleMania 3 had the biggest WrestleMania main event in history with Hulk Hogan facing Andre the Giant in front of 93,000 fans in the Pontiac Silverdome.

While that may have been the match that put the fans in their seats, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage for the Intercontinental Championship was the match that took them out of their seats.

It has been 32 years since this match happened and it still holds true today as one of the best matches of WrestleMania history. The crowd pop at the end when Steamboat became Intercontinental Champion was massive, and that is still a great moment in WWE history.

#9: Three legends meet in the ring to kick off Wrestlemania - Wrestlemania XXX

An Iconic moment!
An Iconic moment!

When you have names like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan, and The Rock all in the ring at the same time, it’s sure to make an unforgettable moment. That’s what the fans got last year at WrestleMania XXX.

Up until this point, we’ve had 30 WrestleManias and the three men in the ring for this moment were a part of the main event in some form or fashion for half of them. They said on commentary that night, that the Mount Rushmore of wrestling came alive in the ring. For anyone watching, it was a big moment fit for the Grandest Stage of Them All.

#8: The Undertaker retires Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania 26

An exhilarating contest!
An exhilarating contest!

Earlier on this list, we spoke about the first time that Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker did battle at WrestleMania 25. It was one of the greatest matches in WWE history, and it was an iconic moment to see two legends of their stature in the ring together.

The Heartbreak Kid came within a hair of ending the Undertaker’s WrestleMania undefeated streak, and the big story heading into WrestleMania 26 was that HBK was obsessed with getting another opportunity to end the streak.

He even cost the Undertaker the World title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in 2010 as an attempt to get under the skin of The Deadman enough to give him another shot at immortality.

Taker would finally agree to a rematch, but only if Shawn Michaels put his career on the line. As it should have, Michaels and Taker closed the event with another masterpiece.

#7: Flying from the Rafters

HBK making his grand entrance!
HBK making his grand entrance!

One of the first signs that WrestleMania was turning more into an entertainment event than a wrestling event was at WrestleMania 12.

The main event was Shawn Michaels versus Bret "Hitman" Hart for the WWF Heavyweight Championship. As the Heartbreak Kid's theme music blared over the loudspeaker, the crowd looked towards the entrance way.

Michaels never appeared. Instead, he came flying down on a zip line from atop of the arena. He flew across the thousands of fans in attendance, and eventually landed in the middle of the ring. It was an incredible performance and a sign of things to come at future WrestleManias.

#6: The Rock meets Hulk Hogan

An epic intergenerational showdown!
An epic intergenerational showdown!

There have been some epic matchups in WWE history, but few have been as big as The Rock meeting Hulk Hogan. We got an opportunity to see that when the two wrestling icons came face to face at the Skydome in Toronto, Canada at WrestleMania 18.

The Rock came into the match as the hero and Hogan was the villain as the leader of the nWo, but the Toronto crowd overwhelmingly favoured Hogan in this one as we saw shades of the old Hulkster.

The reaction from the crowd completely made this match feel bigger than it already was and the moment with The Rock and Hogan looking around at the fans in the middle of the ring remains one of the most unforgettable moments in WrestleMania history.
