The 29th annual SummerSlam looks to be as exciting as it could be on the wrestling part with announced matches such as the Universal Championship match between Finn Balor and Seth Rollins apart from the showdown between The Beast Brock Lesnar and The Viper Randy Orton.

However, it looks like the grand event will feel a bit shorter on the entertainment part as many of WWE's plans for the SummerSlam weekend involving celebrities looks to be falling apart.

Firstly, the SummerSlam concert of famous rapper Flo Rida this Thursday from the Barclays Center was canceled due to unknown reasons and now WWE's plans of bringing 2 more celebrities for the grand event looks to be failing miserably.

As reported by cagesideseats.com, WWE was planning an appearance of both UFC fighter Paige VanZant and Disney's The Muppets during the biggest event of the Summer, but both plans are now nixed due to various reasons.

According to the site, Paige VanZant declined the offer from WWE for an appearance because she wants to concentrate on her next UFC bout against Bec Rawlings happening later this month. It's not been disclosed what role WWE offered the UFC fighter for the event. She has also appeared as a participant on Dancing with the Stars and finished as a runner-up.

On the other hand, the Disney-owned cartoon character Muppets who were supposed to make a surprise appearance during the show to add a comic touch to the event are said to have scheduling problems due to which they will not appear on the PPV.

VanZant made her UFC debut back in November 2014 where she defeated Kailin Curran at UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs. Swanson. The 22-year-old UFC fighter has competed in a total 8 UFC fights till now. She has come out on top in 6 of them, while falling short in two.

Her last bout was against Rose Namajunas which she, unfortunately, lost via Submission. She wouldn't have been the first female UFC competitor to appear at a WWE PPV, if she would have agreed to the offer from the company as fellow UFC fighter Ronda Rousey set the mark first, by making an appearance at Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas, where she exchanged blows with Stephnie McMahon.

The other planned guests, muppets made their first appearance in a Disney program named Sam and Friends back in 1955 and they went on to reach celebrity status from a Television show called The Muppet Show back in 1970.

It's notable here that WWE has a rich history of associating itself with different cartoon characters. Just recently they partnered with Warner Bros. Animation to make an animation movie called Scooby-Doo and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon.
