Xavier Woods talks about success with Trombone, proving doubters wrong

The trombone was never meant to be a planned prop

In a recent interview with DetroitNews.com while promoting the WWE live event post-Christmas, Xavier Woods spoke on a number of things pertaining to his time in the WWE. Below are a few highlights:

The Trombone becoming a part of his act

Woods, off late, has been the most compelling of all the members of the highly entertaining faction ‘New Day’ on WWE TV. An unmistakable part of the same is his use of Trombone as a prop.

On his part, Woods says it was never planned that way. “It became its own beast. That’s the beauty of it. People don’t realize it, but some of the best stuff comes from not having a plan.”

Rubbing the success in the face of his doubters

“I like proving people wrong. The best revenge is success, and I’m a very vengeful, grudge-keeping person. So when someone says I can’t do something and I prove them wrong, I don’t have to say I told you so, because they see me on TV doing it.” says Woods with a sense of pride.

He feels that his success on TV makes him feel good as he chased his dream of becoming a champion in the WWE, while other people disregarded him and mocked him.
