Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins became the no.1 contenders for the RAW Tag Team Championships after securing a victory over The O.C. and the Street Profits in a triple threat match at the WWE Live Event in Mannheim, Germany. Following the win, it was announced that The Viking Raiders would be defending the gold against them on this week's episode of Monday Night RAW.
What happened on WWE RAW?
However, before the match could take place, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins got attacked in the backstage area by the returning Authors of Pain. The vicious assault from Akam and Rezar left them unfit for performing on RAW and they were eventually replaced by Ricochet and Randy Orton in the tag team title match.
As the show went off-air, Zack Ryder took to Twitter and commented on missing out the opportunity to win the RAW Tag Team Championships.
