Vince Carter praises Brooklyn Nets for overcoming adversities & adapting to changes instantly: “New coach, new sound, new voice in locker room”

The Brooklyn Nets have turned things around after an abysmal start to their season. Now under the tutelage of Jacque Vaughn, the Nets have become an incredible team on both ends of the court.

Former Slam Dunk champion Vince Carter commended what Brooklyn has done after their controversies. Carter showered the team with compliments on "NBA Today." He said the team's recent success has could be sustainable if the players stay healthy.

"The one thing I like about what we're seeing about the Nets is that they're understanding who they are, who is the go-to guy, and everybody has fallen in line with their role," Carter said.

"At one point, guys were going everywhere, didn't know where they're gonna get their shooting from, whatever. Now, on the defensive end, is where they've made strides. I mean, Kevin Durant is ninth in the NBA in blocked shots. So, everbody is responding and answered the call, defensively.

"And sometimes, when you get a new coach, you go to the honeymoon stage, where it's all great, it sounds great, everybody's enjoying it. New coach, new sound, new voice in the locker room – even though he's been there. But they've figured out how they wanna play post-honeymoon stage, which is important."

The Nets (20-12) are fourth in the Eastern Conference, and they're the fourth team to win 20 games this season. Brooklyn is on a seven-game winning streak and has won 11 of 12 and 18 of its past 24 games after a 2-6 start. The Nets will face a conference rival on Friday, the Milwaukee Bucks (22-9), as they try to keep their streak alive.

The Brooklyn Nets made sure to make their presence known as they battled the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. They surprised the fans as they scored 91 points in the first half (at the third spot for most points in a half in NBA history) en route to a 143-113 blowout win.

It all started with a high-scoring first quarter, putting up 46 points to the Warriors' 17. They outscored Golden State 45-34 in the second quarter to lead 91-51 at halftime, and there was almost no chance for the Dubs (15-18).

Kevin Durant led the Nets in the first half with 21 points, finishing with 23. Aside from KD, eight players scored in double digits. Kyrie Irving didn't play as he dealt with illness.
