This edition has already witnessed some great performances and it surely promises to offer more in the upcoming weeks. Not only with the bat and ball, the cricketers have won the hearts of the audience with their quotes too.

Pune played the inaugural match of the tournament against the Mumbai Indians and Kevin Pietersen showed his immense respect for the captain with a quote that has become iconic.

When the commentators asked KP, “How does it feel to be in a team that has lot of captains?” KP stole the show with his answer.

“There is only one captain. He is wearing gloves and purple pads.”

The Pune team consists of players like Steve Smith and Faf du Plessis who are the respective leaders of the Australia and the South Africa side. So in a team which has a lot captains, KP’s answer surely made sure who is the boss.

The two brothers have a similar celebration style and according to Krunal, it comes naturally to them.

However, when it comes to fashion, Krunal copies his brother Hardik. Recently in an official interview, Krunal confessed,

“Yes, I do copy from him, the fashion thing. I am a bit old-school guy.”

5) Robin Uthappa on Gautam Gambhir

The opening duo of the Kolkata Knight Riders Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir have formed a lethal partnership together and the rock-solid opening combo of KKR have been outstanding for the side this season as having scored 264 runs together in the four matches played.

Uthappa feels it is his chemistry with Gambhir that is one of the key factors behind KKR’s roaring success and stated,

“We complement each other's game as well. So, we ran well between the wickets. I think the batting chemistry between the two of us is fantastic.”

6) Virat Kohli on AB de Villiers

Two of the greatest batsmen of the modern era Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the sight of them batting together has become a treat for all cricket fans to savour.

The two greats have immense respect for each other and recently a humble Kohli heaped praise on de Villiers as he said,

“AB is the best batsman in our generation. It’s a pleasure to bat alongside him. The way he communicates, he is a selfless person. He doesn’t care about his own plans but helps people around him. He is a better human being than a batsman.”

7) MS Dhoni on Chennai

However, in a recent quote, Dhoni made it clear that he is still very emotional about the Chennai team and its famous yellow jersey as he said

"It was a very emotional moment...since I have started playing T20 cricket represented the Indian cricket team, Jharkhand team in few tournaments and CSK for eight years, so it was an emotional moment not to see myself in yellow."

The sight of Dhoni leading his troops in that yellow jersey is something that the IPL fans will never forget. Dhoni led the team to two IPL trophies and was revered in those parts of the world.
