Mitchell Johnson's brutal bowling spells at Brisbane in 2013

Mitchell Johnson of Australia prepares to bowl at the Gabba against England in Ashes 2013/14

With the Commonwealth Bank Test Series currently 1-0 in Australia’s favour, India have the unenviable task of trying to claw back into the series on the green top of the Gabba in Brisbane. India have never won a Test at the Gabba. Additionally, Australia have not lost a Test in Brisbane in more than 25 years. West Indies were the last team to win here, in 1988.

The last Test match played on this ground was the opening match of the 2013/14 Ashes Tour. Australia had won on the occasion by a comprehensive margin of 381 runs, and had gone on to sweep the series 5-0.

Mitchell Johnson had been the main architect of the English batting order collapse then, and a little more than a year on, it is the left-arm quick from Queensland who is the main threat the Indian batting line-up is confronted with.

Johnson had finished the match with decisive figures of 9-103. Here is a look at the chin music the man had served up to the English team in in November 2013, and is well likely to replicate against India over the coming five days.

Johnson had claimed the prize wickets of Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli in the 1st innings at Adelaide, and it will be vital how the likes of Kohli, Chetashwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane can deal with the pace and bounce the Gabba helps him generate.
