Arsene Wenger last won the Premier League title in 2004 with the incredible ‘invincibles’ squad and now former Blackburn and Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has taken a swipe at the Frenchman saying that the Gunners will never win a Premier League title under Wenger again.

Arsenal’s only signing of the summer has been Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka while their rivals Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have strengthened considerably.

Sutton who won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers in 1995 has slammed Wenger for not making enough big money signings in this transfer window:

"I just worry about Arsenal again this season. They’ve shown absolutely no intent," Sutton toldBBC Five Live.

"I think the board and Wenger are letting the fans down. I just don’t know where Arsenal are going - if I were an Arsenal fan I’d be desperately disappointed.

"They’ve said they are not going to spend, the board are happy, aren’t they? Every year, Champions League football, get the money.

"You’ve got a manager who can choose when he leaves, they’ve got no intent, they had a great chance of winning the league last season, they just don’t spend, and if you’re an Arsenal fan you just think ‘well, it’ll be top four again, we won’t win anything’.

"Then you see Manchester United and Manchester City showing intent, it’s just getting harder and harder, until Wenger goes Arsenal won’t win the Premier League."

There is some good news for Arsenal fans though as longtime target Julian Draxler publicly spoke about a move away from Wolfsburg.

“I was verbally assured with my transfer in August 2015 that I can leave the club when given opportunities. Both from Hecking, as well as Allofs.

“It was always clear between all parties that I would like to go to a top international club if the opportunity arises. It was discussed that we speak rationally with one another, if other clubs show interest.”

With Draxler himself speaking about his desire to leave Wolfsburg, gunners fans will be hopeful of signing another extremely talented creative midfielder. Also, Arsenal have also been linked with Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette and German defender Mustafi.

With Per Mertesacker injured and out for at least 5 months, Arsenal are desperately in need for a defender, and many reports claim that they have already made a €25 million bid to sign Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
