Former Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos shared an Instagram story where he's seen enjoying Wednesday night's (April 17) Champions League quarter-final second leg between Manchester City and Real Madrid.

The player wrote "Madrid es mucho Madrid, Lo de siempre" in Spanish, which loosely translates to "Madrid is Madrid, the usual." The story featured Ramos watching the UCL quarters with his wife and children.

On Wednesday night, the La Liga giants led by Carlo Ancelloti knocked off the Pep Guardiola-led Manchester City after winning 4-3 on penalties.

Ramos currently plays for the La Liga club Sevilla. He played for Real Madrid for 16 years between 2005 and 2021, before moving to the French club Paris Saint-Germain. The Spanish defender played for PSG between 2021 and 2023 before signing for his boyhood club Sevilla.

Sergio Ramos won five La Ligas and four Champions League titles for Real Madrid in 16 years

Sergio Ramos has had a glorious history with Real Madrid and has always remained supportive of his former club despite leaving. In his 16 years of playing for the Los Blancos, the legendary defender won five La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles with the club.

Ramos played 671 games as a Madrid player, scoring 101 goals and providing 40 assists. In the 2014 Champions League final, the Spanish defender scored a decisive equalizer against Atletico Madrid in the 92nd minute, pushing the game to extra time. Madrid went on to win the match 4-1.

In the same 2013-14 season, Ramos scored two crucial goals in the UCL semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich, leading his team to the final in Lisbon. Madrid were leading 1-0 after the first leg, but two important goals from Ramos and two more from Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the deal for the Los Blancos, with a 5-0 aggregate win.

Sergio Ramos has also been key to Madrid winning the UCL three times in a row. He is the first captain to lead his time to victory thrice — in the 2015-16, 2016-17, and 2017-18 seasons respectively.

Ramos left the Los Blancos in 2021 but is still loved and respected by Madridistas across the world.
