Belal Muhammad defended Jamahal Hill after Daniel Cormier created slight controversy about the UFC 300 main event ending.

On April 13, Hill attempted to dethrone Alex Pereira of his middleweight title during the UFC 300 main event. Unfortunately for 'Sweet Dreams,' Pereira continued his legendary run in the Octagon by securing a first-round knockout win only seconds after turning down referee Herb Dean's attempt to pause the fight for a low blow.

Cormier recently reacted to the fight-ending sequence during a podcast with Ben Askren, where he offered a theory that Dean shouldn't have allowed Pereira to push him aside. The former UFC heavyweight champion's comments sparked controversy, as fans didn't agree.

One fan took to X and wanted to clarify that Hill shouldn't receive any backlash for the situation:

"Jamahal Hil didn't publicly blame his loss on the indecisive break by Herb right? It was just something he said to DC, and then DC made it public? If I understand that correctly, he's not really making excuses. Everyone has private thoughts and vents emotionally."

Number two-ranked UFC middleweight Belal Muhammad responded in the X comment section, saying:

"People just love to see confident people lose they rather see failure instead of success stories."

Jamahal Hill teases quick turnaround following UFC 300 loss

Every highlight-reel knockout has two sides, with one fighter playing out their dream scenario, while the other experiences a nightmare. When it comes to the UFC 300 main event, Jamahal Hill was on the wrong side of a brutal fight-ending sequence, which usually leads to an extended layoff.

With that said, Hill and the UFC might have other plans, as the former light heavyweight champion teased a sooner-than-expected return. 'Sweet Dreams' had this to say on X:

"Wanting on the paperwork to come thru and I will see y'all soon!!! We move forward around here!!!"

Before fighting at UFC 300, Hill's last octagon appearance was a unanimous decision win against Glover Teixeira to become the light heavyweight champion. Unfortunately, he suffered a ruptured Achilles during a pickup basketball game last year, which forced him to vacate the throne.

Following his loss against Alex Pereira, 'Sweet Dreams' dropped to the number three ranking in the UFC light heavyweight division.
