Jihin Radzuan says Stamp can hold her ground on the mat

When Stamp Fairtex made the decision to transition to MMA, her main focus was having to switch to grappling and learning this side of the game.

The world-class striker is always going to be a nightmare matchup for any opponent whilst the fight stays standing. This means that a lot of opponents will look to secure takedowns against her to try and take the ONE atomweight MMA world champion out of her comfort zone.

The problem they may find is that the Thai superstar has made leaps and bounds in this area over the years and even has a submission win over Ritu Phogat on her record.

The champion's close training partner and fellow atomweight, Jihin Radzuan, told Sportskeeda MMA that she believes the defending champ will actually be more of a threat on the ground than her opponent in this fight:

"I've sparred and rolled with Stamp on countless occasions since my move here. And based on my past fight, and this training session with Stamp, I think Stamp has more submission threats than her."

Stamp is always getting better and that's not good for the other atomweight contenders

ONE Championship fans have watched Stamp become more comfortable in MMA with each passing fight and some of that experience has been incredibly vital.

Even setbacks like being submitted by Angela Lee at ONE X in her first shot at the atomweight MMA title have only made her stronger in the process.

Now finding herself as the atomweight world champion, her striking is still the stand-out part of her game but she's no longer a one-trick fighter in MMA.

The champ is dedicated to constantly improving and she will look to show this latest evolution when she takes on her former training partner in the main event of ONE 167.

ONE 167 will air live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok on June 7.
