3 strategic mistakes WWE has made heading into the Hell in a Cell PPV

What in the world was this for?

Brace yourself for all the action One of the highly anticipated WWE Pay-per-views of the year, 'Hell in a Cell' is just a week away and we have many things to speak about. As of now, the match card looks promising with seven matches, including the pre-show.It's going to be action time at the Staples Center on this 25th but there are some things that still concern the WWE Universe. As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at 3 strategic mistakes committed by WWE heading into this big event-

#3 Ambrose and Orton being a part of the pre-show

What in the world was this for?

I am surprised honestly after seeing this match on the card for HIAC not because it is a tag match but this is set to be a part of the pre-show. Ambrose and Orton, two of the top rated guys on the roster competing at a PPV like ‘Hell in a Cell’ and all they got was a match on the pre-show? You just can’t accept this so easily.

Also, a PPV is a best place to give a big push to the career of an emerging star like Strowman. WWE missed the boat on this one too. There are rumours that Ambrose turns on Orton during the match but no matter how this match goes, I seriously can’t visualize this match as being onthe pre-show. May be there is some reason behind this. Let’s find out at HIAC.

#2 No word on the US title

Where will the Champ be after HIAC?

Speculations are running wild that John Cena will be away for some time and so he would be losing his US title at the upcoming ‘Hell in a Cell’ PPV. Rumours ranging from marriage to European tour were quoted as reasons for his absence. No matter what could be the reason, this thing surely lacks a story-line. If the rumours are true, John won’t be competing until Royal Rumble in January which means that he should lose the US title at ‘Hell in a Cell’.

It was also noted that Cena would lose his title to Dolph Ziggler but do you really think that would sit well with the WWE universe? No story-line, no heat, no confrontation but a title change! WWE surely has made a huge mistake with this. I don’t really think this is how things should go down. If you really want all this to happen so quickly, why not have something like a ‘Battle Royal’ for the US Championship at HIAC? This all gets decided once RAW goes off air on Monday.

But if any of the rumours are true, WWE surely has missed out on something important.

#1 Poor build-up for the main event

A match too big for nothing?

What do you expect when I tell you that Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker will battle inside 'Hell in a Cell' at the upcoming WWE PPV? Amazing story-lines, thrilling finishes to RAW, surprise attacks and appearances, mind games and what not! But did any of these happen in the past few weeks on RAW? A match too big, but a build up too small!

We have one final RAW before HIAC and both these superstars are advertised for this episode. It is just a formality and nothing more.

When you have a scenario where two legends fight an epic battle, you need to put efforts to make the most out of it but WWE hasn’t done enough on this. The announcement regarding the match was made during the last PPV 'Night of Champions', but these two guys haven’t faced off once since. The only hope left at this time is that, along with Taker and Lesnar, former WWE superstars and ‘Hall of Famers’ Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair are advertised for the next RAW and hopefully, something big happens on that show.

Let's see if something interesting happens on Monday!
