Gail’s reign continues

Gail Kim and Awesome Kong are both extremely talented women wrestlers and were able to produce a great title match at Bound for Glory.

Many expected Kong to capture the victory and have a monstrous title reign. However it was Gail Kim who won, to retain her title and further solidify her reputation as of the best female wrestlers around.

Post-match Gail Kim was also able to pay her respects to Earl Hebner who will be featured later on in this article.

Kurt Angle and Eric Young are both exceptional in ring performers so it’s no surprise that they delivered a solid bout.

The added stipulation No DQ stipulation served to give fans a legitimate reason to be truly invested in the action. Kurt Angle’s TNA career has essentially been up in the air recently as numerous rumours of his potential retirement have surfaced.

However Angle would emerge victorious at Bound for Glory in a great match and will be staying in TNA for the time being.

Referees are forever overlooked by companies and fans alike and seldom has one ever been inducted into a hall of fame. However TNA broke new ground the night before Bound for Glory, as they officially inducted long standing and respected referee Earl Hebner into their Hall of Fame.

If any ref deserves to be acknowledged most it is Earl Hebner who has worked his entire life for a variety of different promotions including WWE.

At Bound for Glory they aired a beautiful video package that highlighted Hebner's career and brought Hebner down to the ring to soak in the adulation from fans. Congratulations to TNA for stepping up and being the first major pro wrestling company to induct a ref into their hall of fame.

Matt as new world champ

Matt Hardy has wrestled for quite some time now in TNA and, unlike his brother Jeff who actually refereed this title bout, had yet to win the TNA World championship.

The main event of Bound for Glory saw the current champ EC3 defend his title against two worthy opponents in Drew Galloway and Matt Hardy.

However it was Matt Hardy who emerged victorious in what was an emotional moment in front of his hometown crowd. Jeff Hardy brought down their father after the bout to celebrate in the ring.
