5 current WWE Superstars who could be great on-screen managers

Professional wrestlers have some of the crazy retirement plans. Some go on to become movie stars, some become rock stars while others end up being comics writers. Apart from all these categories there are some others, who decide to stay rooted in the wrestling business as managers. Now, to get things straight, being a manager is not everyone’s cup of tea. WWE has seen some legendary managers over the years but at the same time, they have seen some horrible ones. Not everyone could cope with the transformation from being a wrestler to a manager, but there are certain superstars on the current roster that could make a great professional wrestling manager. Here is a look at them.

#5 Chris Jericho

What do all the greatest managers have in common? Yes, the microphone skills. Chris Jericho has that in plenty. Knowing to keep the fans on the edge of their seats with the microphone is what sets apart a great manger from a poor one. Jericho has been doing this ever since his debut in WWE.

Currently, Jericho is wrestling live shows with the company and is kept away from the television for some reason. Jericho has a busy schedule with Fozzy and his playing days might come to a standstill anytime soon.

WWE, however, shouldn’t let a talented name like Jericho slip away like that. He can have a great run as manager in the company make others look gold just like he has been doing throughout his career.

#4 Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas might not look like a typical WWE manager, but he has all the resources to be a great one. Once he was repackaged as the ‘inspirational one’, Dallas has been gold on microphone.

Amidst the WWE’s usual heel characters, Dallas played an old school heel which was a fresh approach. He attracted a lot of heat with so less effort thanks to the character, and it was the best prototype for a manager.

Dallas is yet to make a mark in the WWE as a wrestler and probably has a long way to go as well. But if he wants to take an alternative path at any point, being a manager is always a good option.

#3 Bray Wyatt

Now, to get the record straight, Bray was more of a manager than wrestler during his early stay in the main roster. He led his band of misfits all the way to the spotlight, and spent most of his time giving out instructions and promos on how creepy his family is.

Bray is a great character wrestler, period.

But what make him stand out from the rest are his microphone skills. The Eater of the World knows how to keep the crowd captivated and that, ladies and gentleman is the trait of a great manager. Once he wraps up his wrestling career, he could build up Wyatt Family 2.0 and bring out the best in who over he gets as protégés.

#2 JBL

JBL is not technically a wrestler at the moment but he is someone who could flourish in the role of a manager. He is currently stuck in the announcing table with Booker T and Michael Cole and after his wrestling career came to an end, keeping the fans entertained through the mic has been JBL’s hobby.

So there are not many questions about how good he is with the microphone. Also, JBL knows the trick of playing with the fans’ emotions.

He perfected it during his John Bradshaw Layfield character and bringing it back for the managerial role would be ideal. He could own one or two superstars with his money and then drive them forward by being a heel manager.

#1 The Miz

Miz recently revamped his career with the Hollywood persona but that doesn’t necessarily make him any better wrestler than he already is. Ever since he started his wrestling career, there has been a lot of criticism on Miz.

The fans were not at all impressed by what he could do in between the ropes. Despite this, Miz was given a big push by the company and he even defeated John Cena at WrestleMania main event. Nothing worked in favor of him and the best thing that Miz could do after retirement is slip into management.

Though he is nowhere near being a great wrestler, Miz has the microphone skills which could come in handy for his managerial role. He would fit in perfectly as a heel manager like he is doing with Sandow at the moment and as far as the fans are concerned, they will be happy since it will keep him away from in ring action.
