5 WWE talents that are currently wasted in the roster

Being the top wrestling promotion in the world, WWE is known for producing superstars that turned out to be gems in the business. Names like Rock, Steve Austin, John Cena, Shawn Michaels and many more belong to this. One of the main reasons behind the success of these superstars is the way they were booked. Consistency and credibility was the name of the game for the creative when they booked such superstars but like everything there is the other side of the coin. While these talents were getting the limelight for their rise, there were some others who were being wasted. This pattern is still continuing at this present moment and here is a look at some of the WWE superstars that are literally being wasted by the company right now.

#5 Natalya

There aren’t many divas in the WWE that could outwrestle Natalya. In fact, there aren’t many male superstars that could outwrestle Natalya. The talent that Natalya possesses is there to be seen and yet she was confined to such low gimmicks that crashed her stock.

Apart from the in ring ability, Natalya is also a broad shouldered beauty who has shown her acting skills in Total Divas. She has everything that is needed for a Divas Champions but hasn’t been in the title picture for a long time.

Every match that Natalya had with AJ Lee or Paige was more than solid compared to the divas standards however WWE didn’t follow any of those up.

Instead of being the face of the divas division Natalya is forced back into being just a face in the crowd in favor of names like Nikki and Brie Bella who barely know the basics.

#4 Zack Ryder

A former tag team and United States champion, Ryder’s current character is that of a WWE superstar who only appears in television to job for Rusev.

Frankly, WWE hasn’t been using Ryder for anything apart from squash matches over the year and that too at a very low frequency. Lack of television and in ring action is hindering his development big time which was the case with his former tag partner, Curt Hawkins.

However unlike Hawkins, Ryder actually has a social media following which WWE can easily convert into some angle but the writers for one reason or the other has refused to do so.

After being fired by WWE, Hawkins is enjoying a good run in the Indies which might be the last hope for Ryder as well after he is let go by Vince McMahon.

#3 Adam Rose

Before Adam Rose became Adam Rose, he was a hard hitting South African that was spreading night mares in the NXT locker room.

Fans who followed NXT during Rose’s run as Leo Kruger would know how much talent he has when it comes to the action in between the ropes. The new gimmick however has cut down his wings.

A party animal character found an easier way into the main roster, but making it there and staying there are two different stories. Complete randomness is the word that could explain the booking that Rose is getting right now as WWE has no storyline for him whatsoever.

The possibility of doing something similar like Foley’s three faces with Rose is still out there but then again, the creative has more interesting jobs to do than being creative.

#2 Fandango

Fandango is a man who made his debut at WrestleMania defeating Chris Jericho, the same Jericho that defeated Rock and Steve Austin in the same night to be the undisputed champion.

None of the superstars in the current roster got a bigger debut than Fandango. Despite this good start, WWE failed to capitalize the potential that Fandango had.

He has been put into pointless feuds after that dream match who even included getting beaten by a baby bull or El Torito as most of them call him. There was a lot of potential that Fandango brought to the table even if he wasn’t going to be a world champion with this gimmick.

Fandango could’ve been a well rooted upper midcarder in the roster but only managed to become a wasted talent instead.

#1 Big E

After Booker T’s retirement from professional wrestling, WWE has been on the lookout for another Afro – American world Champion. However, the company didn’t have the right superstar to elevate until Big E came by.

He received some strong booking in the NXT which saw him become a champion there. Soon Big E was in the main roster where he got some more credible booking.

Becoming the Intercontinental champion was the biggest high of his main roster stay and all of a sudden, Big E was headlining matches with the lights of John Cena and Daniel Bryan.

After dropping the title, things turned upside down. Big E never reached these heights again and is currently at a deadlock. There is a sense of not knowing what to do with him in the WWE which is not what the fans were expecting for a superstar like Big E.
