SummerSlam 2014 : 5 heel/face turns that could happen at the Pay-Per-View

A few months back Jack Swagger was seen as a mere midcard heel by the company as he had no storyline back up or momentum going in his way. One day, the writers decided to give him a turn and all of a sudden, Swagger was involved in one of the hottest angles in the company.WWE executed Swaggers turn on a weekly episode of Raw and if that could end up being such an impactful change, one can only imagine how things would be if it had been a bigger stage. The creative would be taking notes on this fact when they book summers biggest party as it could change the course of someones career. There are many superstars who could undergo an alignment change at SummerSlam and here is a look at the best from the lot.

#5 Nikki Bella

Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon are running a top program in the company right now and before the two women went up directly against eachother it was Nikki Bella who held things together.

Nikki was the one who suffered for everything that Brie and Daniel Bryan did against the Authority. So it would not be a surprise if she comes out in SummerSlam and seek some revenge against her twin sister.

This is the most logical move that the company could do to keep the two Bellas busy after SummerSlam and a pay-per-view of such importance would only make the turn more impactful.

Also, this angle could well be incorporated into Total Divas and at the same time, pave the path for Cena and Bryan to face off against eachother in the future.

#4 Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods

WWE’s idea of piling up some midcarders together for a stable looks ready and set to take over the entire roster.

The trio of Woods, Kingston and Big E is attracting a lot of curiosity from the fans but the company is yet to reveal their alignment. If we recall, all three superstars were face before they joined together and anything hasn’t been done yet to say otherwise.

So if the creative team is planning to have a stable of superstars who are sick of being booked badly, then the first thing that the stable should do is to take out some big name.

This would set up the tone for the storyline that is been planned and will make it clear that these three will be playing heel in the proceedings.

#3 Cesaro

This was supposed to happen back in WrestleMania 30 where the Real Americans broke up, but for one reason or the other, the creative team shortened the face run of Cesaro to just 24 hours, after which they gave him Paul Heyman.

Heyman being made Cesaro’s manager was the company’s way of telling that Cesaro is staying in the heel territory. It however hasn’t done anything good for the Swiss Superman as he slipped down the ladder.

The way back to relevance for Cesaro would be a turn at Summerslam and he could pull off the same with the help of Heyman.

Cesaro coming out and standing up against Lesnar would be a career making moment for him while being a money maker for the company.

#2 Kane

Kane’s career is running out as each second pass by and the only chance he has to make a big impact is to turn against the Authority.

The Big red monster deserves a finally hurray before he hangs up his boots to look after his insurance business. And there won’t be a better way to do that than going out with his head raised as a face who stood up for what was right.

Back in Battleground, the company gave some emphasis to the uneasy relationship between Orton and Kane. Also, the fans have been waiting to see the monster getting out of hand and destroying the hands that once fed him.

Any of the two angle implemented at SummerSlam would give Kane a fitting farewell unlike the one that his kayfabe brother apparently got.

#1 Randy Orton

Orton’s heel run has been disastrous. He became a champion, he headlined big pay-per-views, he did this and he did that, but one thing that Orton failed to do was win the crowd.

Almost everyone is aware of the fact that only a face turn could breathe some life into Orton’s stale character and WWE should pull the string at the earliest. The Viper is most likely to be booked against Roman Reigns and a possible involvement of the Authority sets the stage well for Orton.

He showed some friction with Triple H after Battleground and WWE could simply use the heel heat that Authority has to launch Orton’s face run.

There are a plethora of options that the company could lay out with a face Orton after SummerSlam which makes it a viable option.
