Top 5 WWE Heel/Face changes that need to happen soon

Kevin Owens wins the NXT Championship

In WWE, heel to face or face to heel turns are quite common. People change their character off and on when the time calls for it. So it makes total sense to think that certain stars need to shift to bad or good. WWE at times will shift the wrong people, or not switch the people we all feel need to turn.We decided to play fantasy booker a bit, since it is already time for fantasy football drafting to start. We compiled a list of five WWE Superstars that need to change soon. We also have listed what could happen and even why the change could be very good for them. Enjoy!

#1 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens wins the NXT Championship

When you think about Kevin Owens, you think of how great he has been in his heel run with WWE. Since his initial start with WWE NXT, we have seen him do so much as a heel. However, it does not seem we will get much with him as a heel right now.

The most he can do is go head to head with Cesaro for a while and maybe the likes of Dean Ambrose. However, after this, there isn’t a whole lot for a guy like Owens to do as a heel. WWE is filled with them, and with the potential of others turning, it only puts him down a bit.

Right now if he were to turn, he would be lost in a shuffle of faces. However, this is starting to occur already with heels. With others coming up, there is no better chance to turn than now when other heels are rising and other faces are falling.

Owens clearly has ability in the ring, and his merchandise sales are good even as a heel. Imagine what this man could do as a full-fledged babyface or potential a face similar to a Stone Cold or Randy Orton, where he will take out anyone he needs to, but he will always be a fan favorite.

This could work well for Owens. If all of these changes happen on the list, Owens as a face would be fun to see.

#2 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31

Roman Reigns has been a very fun person to hate for WWE fans as of late. He is not quite good enough in fan eyes to be compared to the likes of John Cena. Plus fans do not want a carbon copy of Cena as the next face of WWE. Reigns has an uphill battle when it comes to this.

However, the best way to get today’s fans on your side is by doing well as a heel. Cena was able to get over well as a heel and then was able to turn that heel character into a babyface one that worked for a while.

If Reigns did similar, fans might get behind him as the next face of the WWE later on. However, that initial singles heel run needs to happen to make it work for him. Plus, he is perfect for such a role.

Reigns is a bigger man, as a result of this, he can simply come in as a monster heel and win often. Fans will boo him when he takes out people such as his best friend Dean Ambrose, however this role will give him an opportunity to stretch himself as a character and wrestler.

Fans want to see what he can do in this role, and by allowing him to turn heel you are making him into an opponent for the various babyfaces on the roster that could give him great matches. Right now, there aren’t many heels that fit for Reigns as opponents. At least none that he has faced lately.

Due to this, not only will his character improve but his matches will be more entertaining as well. Today, this is a must.

#3 Finn Balor

Finn Balor after his NXT Championship win in Japan

WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor has been really fun to watch in 2015. His demon character is fun to see at big NXT Takeover events, but the man himself can also be interesting. Balor has a lot of possibilities as a heel. So many, that it is almost too easy for him to turn.

Let’s say that Balor lets the demon inside him get out too much, and due to this he ends up taking over Balor. There is no more Finn Balor, only the demon. This man would go absolutely nuts on competitors and take out anyone in his path.

Balor has been a good heel in the past, when he was the leader of The Bullet Club in NJPW. This was the time we first got to see the demon show up. However, fans ate it up. Balor as a heel would be even better than him as a face.

There have been some rumors of this happening in the past, yet nothing has occurred. If WWE goes through with the idea, there are endless possibilities for Balor as a heel. Not only are the matches for him open in NXT, but also on the main roster.

He can work with literally anyone, and the things he would be able to accomplish as a heel are almost too cool to discuss.

If you think fans love Finn Balor now, wait until heel Balor comes along. The things we could see would be too good to miss.

#4 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins threatens to paralyze WWE Hall of Famer Edge

Current WWE United States and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has been a very fun heel to watch this past year. The issue is that fans are getting tired of the way he cheats to win, which is what heels tend to do but I digress. Fans feel he could be the second coming of Shawn Michaels, but he needs to show more.

This much is understandable, as the Heart Break Kid was known as a tremendous babyface for most of his career. Fans want to like Rollins, as he is one of the best in the world right now. He has given us some incredible matches and excellent moments since his singles run in 2014.

The problem is that he needs to be a face in order for fans to get behind as the true future of the WWE. Rollins has all the tools in his arsenal to be THE MAN in WWE for real. He very well could be the face of the WWE that takes over for John Cena.

However, he has to prove that he can work as a babyface in his singles career before too long.

There are rumors that Rollins could turn babyface before the end of the year. The issue with this is that we do not know if he will do so soon or right before the end of the year starts. Really, it could be at any point.

Fans hope for Rollins to turn, so that we fan finally cheer for him. Rollins could be excellent as a babyface, but we will have to see for certain once he does turn.

#5 John Cena

John Cena with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan

Everyone and their brother can tell you that John Cena is a wonderful ambassador for WWE and has been on top longer than anyone ever before him. However, for nearly 10 years now we have seen the same John Cena with little to no change. This is of course barring his multitude of color changes with his attire.

Character wise, Cena is almost as interesting as watching paint dry. There is no greatness behind it, it is simply old and there is a need for something new. A heel run to be more precise.

WWE will say that this cannot happen because Cena is selling merchandise well as the top babyface in WWE. Despite attempts, WWE does not have their next top guy yet. Due to this, they clearly need Cena to remain the top face of the WWE until there is someone that could possibly replace him.

However, there are some who believe that this is not needed. His merch sales would only sky rocket with a character change. When Hulk Hogan turned heel after years of being known as a babyface, it shocked the world. However, he along with the initial NWO group became the hottest thing in pro-wrestling and just about in all of entertainment at the time.

The NOW was possibly the best angle at the time, and Hogan led the charge for it to occur. Not only did merchandise fly off the shelf, but Hogan was able to work and help along the likes of Sting and Goldberg. This gave them the opportunity to grow and be top names in WWE. Without Hogan turning, we may have never seen Sting and Golberg grow into the legends they are today because they both needed the NWO angle to really push them to the top.

Faction or not, John Cena could easily do the same as the top heel. As a heel, he could be in every top story WWE does for some time. He then could help along the babyfaces and help to make them into top tier stars. When Cena main events WrestleMania with the likes of Dean Ambrose and loses to him, it makes Ambrose and the rest look like the next big thing.

The Hogan scenario could not only work for Cena, it could literally change pro-wrestling and draw massive attention to WWE. The moment Cena turns, it would be one of the most iconic times in all of pro-wrestling history.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
