5 Early favorites to win the Andre The Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania 31

WrestleMania is just around the corner and though we no longer have the streak to look forward to; there are a plethora of other things which makes the pay-per-view worth waiting for. One among those will be the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.Last year the company held the inaugural event and Cesaro went on to win it. The win was supposed to be the start of a big push for the Swiss Superman but somewhere down the lane, Vince McMahon lost his faith in Cesaro. It turned out to be a pointless win and WrestleMania 31 will be a stage to clean the mess. The match is yet to be confirmed by the company but if they go by what they announced last year, it will surely find a place in the card. So here is a look at some early favorites who could win the battle royal.

#5 Cesaro

Cesaro won the Battle Royal last year. A majority of the fans are not giving him any chance due to this fact but think about it, WrestleMania 31 will be an opportunity for WWE to restart their Cesaro project.

Brock Lesnar was the reason for Cesaro’s run bombing last time around and now that Lesnar is leaving the company post –WrestleMania, Cesaro could be built up as the new Paul Heyman guy properly.

He still packs in a lot of potential in him and is equally talented in between the ropes. Without the Lesnar distraction, Heyman could make Cesaro look good at every turn and end up making him a main event star that he deserves to be.

#4 Ryback

Ryback was the focus of a big push in the weeks that built up to Survivor Series. He was all of a sudden looking like the next best thing but all those came crashing down soon. WWE once again failed to capitalize on Ryback despite the fans reacting well.

It is still not late to let Ryback steal the show and making him the winner of Andre the Giant battle royal would be a great initial step. The big power house will have a lot of opportunities to shine in a match like this.

And with the momentum on his back, Ryback could go on to have a midcard championship run before being pushed into the main event scene.

#3 Sheamus

The Celtic Warrior has been out of WWE programming for nearly three months now and WWE will have to bring him back with a bang. He is highly regarded in the company due to Vince McMahon’s love of big men and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Vince books Sheamus as the winner.

There aren’t many possible feuds that Sheamus could involve ahead of WrestleMania so the best thing would be to let him make a surprise return at the pay-per-view.

Sheamus is going to settle into the space between midcard and main event no matter and the win will only help him make the transition faster. If WWE wants more from the return, they could turn him heel as well.

#2 Bo Dallas

Remember this guy? Well no one is going to blame you if you don’t, because WWE messed up on Bo Dallas. He had the old school heel charm that would’ve worked in any era but for some reason the company did not bank in on the factor.

He also had an interesting winning streak to his name as well but that ended at the hands of R-Truth. Bo has been out of action with injury for some time now and just like Sheamus, he should return with a bang.

A lot of people out there are still not sold on Bo but he deserves a chance nevertheless. The company need not push him all the way to a WWE championship win but they could at least give him a win at Mania.

#1 Damien Mizdow

The seeds for a breakup between Miz and Mizdow are already sown. There is a huge possibility of the two men locking horns at Mania and Mizdow is the favorite to walk out as the winner.

With the angle wrapping up, Mizdow will have to make an identity of his own in the company. He should no longer be the stunt double of Miz after winning a match against the Awesome One.

It would be interesting to see where the company takes Mizdow’s character to, but if they want to build him as a singles star, a battle royal win would work well. If the runner up is Miz, then it will be even better.
