Staph is not a foreign term to wrestlers. It is a contagious disease and the symptoms, if not identified at the right time, could lead to serious consequences.Injuries are a part and parcel in the career of a WWE superstar. #5 DDP

DDP recently underwent surgery

Diamond Dallas Page was diagnosed with Staph infection on February, 2015. He had a very bad infection in his throat and he underwent surgery. He faced great difficulty in the post-surgery phase. After undergoing operation, DDP couldn’t speak for two days and later, communicated in a soft tone for the next five days. He thanked his doctor, Dr. Carothers for his support and was back to his work in a fairly quick time.

#4 Kevin Nash

Kevin Nash was diagnosed with Staph infection in 2009

Kevin Nash was diagnosed with Staph infection in 2009. Nash had worked the Wrestle Fest III show in Tokyo, Japan. During that event, he developed a small scrape which led to this serious problem. Nash became so desperate and frustrated as he could not plan his future due to this infection.

He was taken to the limit and he stated the following later that year- "It's eight weeks later and I'm still sitting here messing with this crap. I just hope to stay healthy”.

#3 Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan was also a victim of the Staph

Throughout his career, Daniel Bryan suffered multiple injuries. Bryan’s weak immune system has caused him several problems related to health and fitness. Back in 2009, Bryan was diagnosed with three different Staph infections. The doctors asked Bryan to shift to a vegetarian diet to develop immunity against the infection.

Bryan gradually put on strength and was able to wrestle again. However, Bryan continues to battle against some health issues, owing to which he has been out of action for the past few months.

#2 CM Punk

Punk developed a huge lump on his back

CM Punk, the former WWE Champion, was diagnosed with Staph infection in January, 2014. Punk was a part of the 2014 Royal Rumble match and after the PPV got over, a huge lump was observed on his back. It was later confirmed by Punk, on the Opie and Anthony show, that the reason for the lump was Staph infection.

The scars that developed as a result of the infection began to show up. Later, after Punk left the WWE and broke the backstage stories on why he decided to, hiding this, this issue was revealed by him and it became a major issue between him and WWE doctor Chris Amman.

#1 Ryback

“The Big Guy” was out of the Battleground PPV

Ryback has been pretty impressive with his Intercontinental title reign. He was set to face Big Show and The Miz in a triple-threat match for the IC Championship at the Battleground PPV. However, Ryback had to be pulled off from the show after a huge lump was identified on his right knee and he had to get admitted in the hospital.

Later, Ryback said he was thankful to the WWE medical team for identifying the infection in time and that hoped to make a full recovery.
