WWE Extreme Rules 2015: 5 big returns that could happen at the pay-per-view

Pay-per-views and surprise returns are a deadly combination on any day. Over the years WWE has managed to put this combo to good use and another ideal opportunity will be there at their disposal at Extreme Rules. The pay-per-view is just a couple of weeks away and the lack of excitement might be something that WWE needs to work on.However, instead of trying to add fire to the buildup which is already doomed, what WWE should do is work on the actual pay-per-view. Returns are a great way as pointed out earlier and here is a look at those superstars who could help the company to get some cheers at the Extreme Rules.

#5 Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey is not technically a WWE superstar to make her return, but after what happened at WrestleMania, she could show up at Extreme Rules. Rousey is known to be a regular attendant of the WWE pay-per-views and if WWE could get her in-between the ropes for a segment, it would be a great deal for both parties.

Stephanie McMahon is the hands down favorite to have a segment with the UFC champion as she has a score to settle. WWE could also bring in the Bellas into the mix if they want to push the idea of Rousey competing in a match before the rumored showdown at WrestleMania 32 against Stephanie.

#4 Eva Marie

A few months back, Eva Marie’s return would have gone down as just another match. But things have changed. Eva is going through some tough training with Brian Kendrick and she has been posting videos of the same on her Instagram account.

And trust me, they are promising. I mean, it’s not every day that you see a WWE diva produce a snap suplex and head scissors. The addition of Eva into the current divas division is going to be exciting and she could strike up a feud with almost anyone right now. Above all, if Eva is actually as good as she is in those videos, and then the WWE fans are in for a treat.

#3 Bray Wyatt

Bray did make his return on Raw this week but it was not physically. It as a recorded promo from the Eater of the Worlds and since it was cryptic as usual, we still have no idea what his intentions are. If we go back a few months, Bray had a similar situation after his John Cena feud and came out interfering in the Hell in a Cell match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

He might pull off something similar at Extreme Rules and the best part is, he is unpredictable. It could be anyone ranging from John Cena to Roman Reigns and whoever he picks, the feud will be worthy of tuning into.

#2 Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman’s return at Extreme Rules is a must happen angle. An Extreme Rules pay-per-view wouldn’t be complete without an appearance from Heyman and it would also help the company to keep Brock Lesnar in the headlines when he is not around.

WWE need not bring back the idea of a new ‘Paul Heyman guy’ as it is sure to bomb due to lack of time. On the other hand, what we need is a simple promo by Heyman which would make Lesnar’s return feel like a big deal (which it is). And if WWE wants to take matters to the next level, they could let Seth Rollins curb stomp Heyman, thus completing the baby face turn. Two birds in one bullet, not bad is it?

#1 Sting

All the hype surrounding Sting’s run in the WWE has toned down big time. The death of the decade-long wait to see him in a WWE ring might be the reason for this and WWE needs to bring the hype back if Sting is here to stay for some time.

The WWE fans have no idea on Sting’s current deal with the WWE making it the ideal situation for a surprise return. If WWE is indeed going for a bout between Sting and Undertaker at WrestleMania 32, they could bring out Sting to challenge the Phenom. The dream match is worth a one year buildup so the fans will not have any complaints about things being rushed.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
