WWE Fast Lane 2015: 5 big returns that could happen at the pay-per-view

The inaugural Fast Lane pay-per-view will be met with a ton of expectations. Royal Rumble controversy has left the fans scratching their head about what waits at WrestleMania and all those questions needs to be answered by the company on February 22.The ways in which the WWE has lined up matches and storylines look certain to grab the headlines. However, anyone who knows how the pay-per-view works will be aware about the importance of some surprises.Though Royal Rumble was expected to be filled with surprises, it disappointed at the end of the day. WWE will be able to clean up the mess with the right booking at Fast Lane and here is a look at the possible names that could return at the show.

#5 Randy Orton

Despite being a main event name, Randy Orton has been away from the WWE programming for nearly three months now. Orton’s absence is not felt in the company but still having him in the roster ahead of the WrestleMania period will be crucial.

There are a lot of possible feuds that Orton could be involved in with the primary one being against Seth Rollins. Both men are known for giving pay-per-view quality matches whenever they lock horns.

After the loss to Daniel Bryan on Monday night, Rollins is taken away from the title scene which in turn leaves him without a feud. Orton returning on Fast Lane could change all that and WWE will have another big name at their disposal.

#4 Bubba Ray Dudley

Bubba Ray Dudley entered into the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant. It went down in the books as an effort to get some cheap pop from the Philadelphia fans rather than being a long stay from the ECW original.

During his final spell with TNA, Bubba proved to everyone about his effectiveness as a singles wrestler. He could have had a similar run in the WWE as well or else, there was also a possibility of Team 3D reuniting.

Bubba expressed his desire to work for WWE again and Vince McMahon should not hesitate before signing up the veteran as he could deliver some consistent performances all the way to WrestleMania despite his age.

#3 Sheamus

The Celtic Warrior’s case is similar to that of Randy Orton. He has the main event caliber but still, Sheamus is being kept away from the action just like the Viper. He was involved in the Authority vs Team Cena battle before he went out of action and can be put into any feud.

Sheamus returning as a baby face would pit him against the lights of his old enemies while a heel return opens up a lot of new doors for the former WWE Champion.

Either way, Sheamus needs to be back in the mix at Fast Lane as he could be an asset when the company will be booking the WrestleMania midcard.

#2 Sting

So this is technically not a surprise compared to the other names on the list but it is a big return nevertheless. Sting is almost sure to face Triple H at WrestleMania this year but all the motives and meaning of the feud will be disclosed at Fast Lane.

Hunter called out the icon for a confrontation at the pay-per-view and if Sting shows up, we will get to see him talk for the first time in WWE.

The words that will come out of Sting’s mouth will be crucial for building up this match as a big deal. Thus, WWE needs to be careful when writing the script but for the fans, Sting’s return would be enough.

#1 Undertaker

A few months back no one would have imagined seeing Undertaker at WrestleMania. The photos of Taker which made rounds in the Internet projected him in no condition for a wrestling match but all those looks set to change.

Battle lines between Bray Wyatt and Undertaker is being drawn as we speak and for the match to materialize, Taker should make an appearance. Bray delivering arrows into the dark is what we have seen so far and that should change after Fast Lane.

Both men should pull promos together and get physical at some point as well but before all these, Undertaker should return on February 22.
