WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 20 July, 2015

Dean Ambrose

Paul Heyman and Brock LesnarWith Battleground in the books, all eyes are now set on WWEs weekly flagship show. This weeks Monday Night Raw will give an insight on what WWE is planning for SummerSlam and therefore it carries some paramount importance. The fallout of Battleground will clearly be the major talking point this week.Undertakers return has shaken things up in the company and it would be interesting to see what his motives are. At the same time, some new storylines need to be kick started ahead of SummerSlam. Without further introductions, here is a look at the possible angles that WWE could produce on Monday Night.

#5 Arranging the midcard

Dean Ambrose

The Intercontinental Championship match was taken out of the Battleground card due to Ryback’s injury. He is expected to be back soon but till then, WWE has to invest the likes of Big Show and Miz somewhere else. Similarly, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Neville, Stardust and a string of other midcarders are also left with no program whatsoever.

This situation needs to be changed before SummerSlam arrives as these guys have too much talent to be left out of the show. The tag team championship, meanwhile, will be looking for fresh challengers after New Day failed to capitalize on their opportunity. In short, WWE needs to shape up their midcard properly and the works should start this week itself.

#4 Hooded Harper

Luke Harper

The match between Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns ended as expected. It was a cheap ending where none of the wrestlers got buried. From the looks of it, we are bound to see another bout between the two at SummerSlam. The interesting part, however, was the involvement of Luke Harper. With Erick Rowan out injured, Harper desperately needed an angle and Battleground presented him with just that.

Also, WWE could add Dean Ambrose into the mix and make it a tag team feud for SummerSlam. No matter what WWE is planning, they should pull it off without hurting Bray Wyatt, who has already taken a lot of falls for the storylines.

#3 End of Owens - Cena saga?

John Cena

John Cena and Kevin Owens engaged in yet another classic at Battleground. It was another excellent story inside the ring and Cena walked out as the winner. Owens and Cena have faced off thrice already and the chances of the match happening once again at SummerSlam are low. WWE will have to come up with alternatives. Cesaro and Rusev are the front runners to get a shot at Cena.

A fatal four way would please the fans equally. All four men mentioned here could have singles matches leading to SummerSlam and it is sure to keep the fans rooted to their seats.

#2 What if Authority hired Taker?

Undertaker

Undertaker made a huge return at Battleground. It was his first appearance after WrestleMania 31 and he immediately made his intentions clear. But a big question is yet to be answered by the WWE.

Why is Undertaker going after Brock Lesnar now?

If he wanted revenge for the Streak, Taker should have got it earlier. Taker going after Lesnar for what he did to Kane is a good angle but then again, Taker should come out and admit the same. Otherwise, the fans will see it as a delayed rematch for WrestleMania 30, which doesn’t make much sense since its been almost two years.

#1 What next for Seth Rollins?

Seth Rollins

While Undertakers appearance was the biggest news that came out of Battleground, Seth Rollins was the actual winner. He escaped from suplex city brilliantly and kept hold of his championship as well. And most importantly, Rollins no longer has Lesnar as a threat. Lesnar will be busy fending off Taker for the time being, which opens up the door for another challenger.

And who would be the challenger?

The possibilities are many. A returning Masked Kane would be ideal. At the same time, Dean Ambrose could tear the house down if given another opportunity. Triple H, Sheamus, or even Kevin Owens could be considered.
