WWE Monday Night Raw preview: 3 August, 2015

Roddy Piper

John CenaThe WWE Universe is still in shock after the passing away of Roddy Piper. Emotions are running wild among the wrestling fans but as they say, the show must go on. And WWE will have to overcome the loss and produce a great show on this Monday Night. Brock Lesnar is advertised for the event and we could expect something big from him.Midcard battles and John Cena’s broken nose would be other major topics that WWE would mention on their weekly flagship show. With that said, here is a detailed look at the possible angles that might happen this week on Monday Night Raw.

#5 Tribute to Roddy Piper

Roddy Piper

Monday Night Raw will be WWE’s first show after the passing away of Rowdy Roddy Piper. WWE already gave him a ten bell salute during a live show, but we could get to see a full on emotional video package from the WWE team. Some of the wrestlers might even pay tribute to the late legend and altogether, it will be a great atmosphere to be in.

Roddy deserves every bit of respect that he will receive on the occasion and hopefully WWE would not simply let the moment pass by as it is too emotional to do the same. It would be interesting to see how WWE handles the situation.

#4 Cosmic battle

Stardust and Stephen Amell

The Stardust character is getting a lot of television time right now. WWE is planning something big for him but currently, the only possible thing is a feud with Neville. There are still rumors about a possible match involving Stephen Amell. However, this is still a backup from WWE’s point of view. They are going ahead with the Stardust-Neville feud as things stand now.

The way in which Cody quoted his father was a great moment from the feud and we could expect similar moments in the future. Sting and The Miz could also get mixed into the storyline if we go by the speculation and things will be a bit clearer once the Raw passes by.

#3 Cesaro and Owens going at it

Cesaro

After pulling off an excellent feud with John Cena, Kevin Owens is currently invested in an angle with Cesaro. Both superstars are capable of pulling off some excellent matches and we have already seen glimpses of it. Currently, nothing is at stakes for these two men to fight. However, now that Cena is out of action, WWE could vacate the United States Championship and make these two men fight for it.

It would be a safe move from WWE as Cena could then be put into a feud with Seth Rollins. The title drop wouldn’t hurt him as well. No matter what happens, WWE should try and keep the momentum of both superstars since they have some immense potential.

#2 Lesnar is here

Brock Lesnar

After the brawl that set the tone for SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar is advertised for Monday Night Raw. The beast incarnate and his manager will have something to share and it won’t be pretty. WWE might come up with a promo from the Undertaker as well. Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker has turned into WWE’s ‘go to’ feud for SummerSlam and they need to produce some more magic this week on Raw.

Coming up something better than the brawl would be a tough task but if WWE does, and then they are sure to get a big profit from SummerSlam even if John Cena misses the pay-per-view.

#1 Rollins rubs it in the face of Cena

John Cena

A portion of the Internet fans out there are thanking Seth Rollins for breaking John Cena’s nose. Cena won’t be able to wrestle due to the injury but it is unlikely that he will miss television time. Cena might appear with a taped nose this week on Raw and if he does, Rollins will be there to tease him. The feud between Rollins and Cena is far from over and fortunately for WWE, the accident has added more intensity to the storyline.

If Rollins gets some backing from the Authority before he goes head to head with Cena, then there would be more layers to the narrative, which is always good for the company.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
