WWE Night of Champions 2014 : 5 Storylines that can sprout from the Pay-Per-View

WWE will bring their annual Night of Champions pay-per-view on September 21 from the Bridgestone arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Seven matches with a possible addition in the pre-show is being advertised for the same but a lot of factors arent going the way WWE wouldve liked.Lack of buildup to matches other than Lesnar- Cena bout was already attracting a lot of criticism from the fans while Roman Reigns injury looks to be salt in the wound. Now that the show has all the potential to be a failure, WWE needs to pull the right strings to make sure that they pave the path correctly for the future. This means that some credible storylines should take birth in the Night of Champions, so here is a look at the possible ones that the creative team can pull off on Sunday.

#5 The Bella syndrome

WWE has treated the sibling feud between Bellas a main event feud so far even though it isn’t finding any success. The fans are no interested to invest themselves in the Bellas which in turn forced WWE to mix them with Paige and AJ Lee to breathe in some credibility.

Now that the WWE is not finding it good to keep the Bellas apart, they might just let Brie turn heel and help Nikki win the championship.

This would be more effective than letting the two Bellas have single runs. Paige and AJ can form a credible team against the Bellas letting the company have a good feud in the division.

Stephanie’s presence would make matters more exciting and must watch television for the WWE Universe.

#4 Eater of the worlds title quest

Bray Wyatt’s career took a drastic drop after his loss to John Cena at WrestleMania 30. His main event status didn’t seem credible after losing to the Cenation leader and Bray was no longer the monster that the fans loved.

He was a mere mortal during the feud with Chris Jericho. The steel cage match that he won teased a return of Bray into the path that he once owned but that didn’t happen as he was booked randomly with Big Show.

Bray is clearly not continuing the feud with Show as the two have minimum chemistry. The lethargic matches that they put together calls for a new opponent for Bray to feud with.

Sheamus and Ziggler are two great options and WWE could let Bray pursuit some mid card title just to get some momentum back into him.

#3 Ascension strikes

For those who didn’t know about the news, The Ascension has dropped their NXT tag titles to Lucha dragons. This makes the creepy team free to make their main roster debut.

It is one of the most anticipated debuts of the year as they have been dominating the NXT tag division for a whole year now.

A series of segments have already been taped in the feud between Ascension and Hideo Itami which once again makes it possible for Ascension to climb into the main roster at the earliest.

NOC is the best place to execute the debut as Usos are almost certain to retain the titles. There aren’t many teams in the roster that could challenge the tag champions after the Rhodes Brothers which calls for the debut of Ascension.

#2 Lesnar stamps his dominance

The SummerSlam of 2014 will be known for Lesnar’s dominance over Cena with his German Suplexes. There were a lot of strong booking for Cena after that and the rematch has been built up well making the match unpredictable.

Despite this, Lesnar looks set for another dominant performance against the Cenation leader. A defeat to Cena would make Lesnar’s 2014 a mess even after achieving all these.

On the other hand, another dominant performance will stamp his place as the champion that every challenger fears.

WWE should not let Lesnar take the drop before this year ends and NOC might be just another step in the path whose ending would make Lesnar the most dominant superstar in the company.

#1 Rollins is not getting a night off

The internet fan community was shocked to learn that Roman Reigns picked up injury just hours before his match with Seth Rollins at NOC.

While the legitimacy of the injury is still a big question for the WWE Universe, it does mean one thing: the match between Rollins and Reigns would not take place at the pay-per-view.

This leaves Rollins without and opponent and the ideal option for Dean Ambrose to make his return. Even if the injury is legitimate or kayfabe, Ambrose filling in would be the best option that WWE could do right now to keep the fans happy.

Absence of Reigns would let the creative build Ambrose as the top face of the company which is what everyone would love to see.
