WWE RAW 25th January 2016 - 5 Promising developments

The Rock was on Raw

The former Sheild brethren would collide at Fastlane; with the Beast in the mixThe Royal Rumble fallout show continued the story between The Authority and Roman reigns and more importantly, Triple H Vs Roman Reigns. The women embroiled in the championship scene also had a good match to boast of and a storyline that looks good so far. AJ Styles made his Raw debut and The Rock was on the show too.On paper, this looks must-see and something that should be followed much more, given that we’re officially on the Road to Wrestlemania. Some storylines though are just about to take shape. Here are the 5 promising development from tonight’s show-

#5 Guess who made an appearance on Raw-

The Rock was on Raw

The Rock had arguably, the most appalling segment of the night with The New Day. They just weren’t entertaining and everything that they spewed out for words were just redundant.

In the end, it was all a build up for The Rock to ask his family – The Usos, to come out and attack The New Day. He was also there to hype up Wrestlemania this year and in the process made it clear that he may play a part in the biggest ever Wrestlemania.

His segment was dragged on and he did the shtick expected of him now. But still, it could have been way, way better. Anyway, Rock made an appearance on Raw. That’s huge.

#4 Fastlane main event

Ambrose is set to face Reigns and Brock Lesnar to get a shot at Triple H’s title

Stephanie McMahon came out after the main event to announce that the Fastlane main event has been made. It features mortal enemies Reigns, Ambrose and Brock Lesnar. It’s a huge announcement since any match Lesnar is a part of is huge.

What’s also should be noted is that Reigns is not getting a direct rematch as is the right of every champion that loses their championship, but he’s made to fight his brother and The Beast Incarnate to reach there, making his misery, even more effective.

#3 The Womens Championship scene

Fastlane may have Charlotte facing both Banks and Lynch.

Sasha Banks returned to Raw for a match against Becky Lynch and it was as good as it was expected to be.

They went back and forth for a while until Banks ultimately locked in the bank Statement only for Charlotte to break it up and disqualify Banks. She attacked both Banks and Lynch indicating that there is still unfinished business between Lynch, continuing the interaction she had with Banks last night.

It seems to be heading to a triple threat match at Fastlane.

#2 Raw debut

AJ Styles made his Raw debut with a match against Y2J

Given the interaction between Owens and Styles at the Rumble, those two may begin a feud soon.

Owens won his match against Ziggler and Styles won against Jericho – both looking to impress the Authority in giving them a title opportunity. These two, though, did not follow up to what many thought is a shoo-in for a feud.

But how amazing is it to have Styles make his debut on Raw? He had a fantastic match with Jericho and the crowd was firmly behind him. He was the name they cheered for the most even in the opening segment when Stephanie Mcmahon mentioned him, leading rapturous AJ Styles chants.

#1 The Story Continues

The corporate champion

This may not be the most refreshing stories in the WWE and may be predictable in many aspects, but they’re moving with the story they have between Triple H and Roman Reigns in the right direction.

Reigns decimated Triple H in December, won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship the next night, gloriously in the same arena that booed him out at the Royal Rumble – in the process of which he Superman punched Vince McMahon.

He’s been trolling Stephanie McMahon ever since.

It was only time until all this disrespect directed towards the dictatorial and atrocious Authority will catch up to him, and it did.

Then he got embroiled into the Rumble match with his title on the line and the pressure was just too much as he came in at Number 1 and lost the title to entrant number 30.Vince and Stephanie McMahon kicked off Raw by laying it thick on the Florida crowd and Roman Reigns.

It was a segment enough to show how much of an atrocious and authoritative figure they are and then they have their very own corporate champion in Triple H, who wore the championship under his corporate jacket.

They protected Reigns from being viciously booed again. And that’s why tonight he had some support in his misery brought upon him by his bosses.

Triple H said he doesn’t need the championship but he wants it and he wants it precisely because guys like Reigns don’t come near it. The Game’s going to be the champion till his last breath and it’s not going away until he says so, and given his position of power, there isn’t a darn thing anyone can do about it.
