Top 5 possible candidates who could be Anonymous Raw GM

I quote, ‘that irritating computer is back in action’. Hunter and Stephanie McMahon are officially out of power and the WWE landscape is now in desperate need of a new Authority figure. Fans expected the announcement to be made this week on Raw after what happened at Survivor Series but the company somehow realized that next week would be a better stage.Even though WWE’s idea of an anonymous general manager who communicates through the laptop was met with a chorus of jeers whenever the company used it, Vince McMahon smoked something potent and decided that it should be bought back next week, much to the misery of everyone. There is added on pressure on the writers to reveal a big name behind the laptop due to this negative reactions and here are the best candidates for that slot.

#5 Paul Heyman

Personally speaking, Paul Heyman is the best promoter that professional wrestling business has seen. He might not be a great businessman like Vince McMahon, but Heyman eats and breathes wrestling.

The biggest proof of his excellence is ECW itself. The promotion has been dead for more than a decade now but still its aura makes the fans go wild. Not having Brock Lesnar around is the reason why WWE keeps Heyman out of the television despite his talent.

Lesnar is apparently not going to come back anytime soon and keeping Heyman out of television for all that time would be suicidal.

We are well aware of the brilliance that Heyman could bring into a wrestling promotion and the company could really think about giving him a bigger role both on the screen and behind the screen.

#4 Eric Bischoff

Remember him? Well you should, because if controversy makes cash then there isn’t a better name in wrestling that could be the new General Manger of Raw than Eric Bischoff.

Bischoff’s last run in WWE came ages back and it was definetly a successful one. His stay at TNA didn’t turn out brilliant as he would’ve wanted but he is still one of the best things out there when it comes to being an authority figure.

Some might argue about another heel coming into the mix, but it’s not just a simple heel dammit, it’s Eric Bischoff. If WWE is willing to give him some limited creative power, he could turn the product upside down and give the fans what they want.

#3 Steve Austin

For the first time ever, Steve Austin’s podcast would debut in the WWE Network this week. This exposes the good relations that Austin has with WWE and it would only be a matter of time before he gets an on screen role.

Austin would meet almost all the requirements as the new power figure and also, having a big name like him for regular shows would let the company sell their Network better.

Younger breed like Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena interacting with Austin would be a great sight to see and just imagine how an Ambrose – Austin showdown would end up like.

Another big advantage of Austin being the GM is a possible Cena heel turn. There were rumors about the two facing off at next year’s WrestleMania and if that’s the case, the buildup could start right now.

#2 Sting

Pretty obvious isn’t it? That’s why Sting doesn’t top the list. After what he did at Survivor Series, he is the favorite to be WWE’s new Authority figure.

The debut that made everyone wait for 13 years was a success story but it’s only the start of things. Sting’s absence was a big headline maker on this week’s Raw and when WWE announced about the anonymous GM for next week, all heads started fantasizing about the Icon.

Everyone is thrilled about the prospect of seeing the legend finally in the company and the writers could make maximum utilization of this situation if they make Sting the new GM. It would be the right move if WWE wants to build up a Triple H – Sting showdown at WrestleMania.

#1 Vince McMahon

Who is the best Authority figure that WWE has ever seen? No need of any debates here as the unanimous answer would be Vince McMahon.

He has always stepped up his game whenever WWE started to enter a struggling stage. And the current phase is not only a struggle; it’s a crisis, a big one. Vince needs to take up a regular role in television to freshen things up.

Instead of his regular heel tactics, he could also be a face Authority figure that sees NXT above the current main roster which would result in a full blown invasion angle.

There are a lot of possibilities with McMahon at the weekly programming’s helm and he is not someone who’ll screw up every now and then.
