WWE Top 5 rumors of the week and analysis : 17 January, 2016

Going to help Reigns?

Going to play a big part in WrestleManiaIt’s that part of the week again where we search through the rumor mill to find out the most interesting speculations about the wrestling business. This past week, the rumor mill mainly buzzed about the plans that WWE had for WrestleMania and the 2016 Class of Hall of Fame.As the appearance of Steve Austin and The Rock is now confirmed, some talk regarding their involvement in the event took place in the Internet. A possible call up on the night after WrestleMania also featured in the long list of interesting rumors. As usual, we are going to line up the best speculations from the lot and their analysis.

#5 WrestleMania main event and role of The Rock

Going to help Reigns?

WWE has apparently written their plans for Royal Rumble in a recent meeting. They apparently have no plans of taking the title off Roman Reigns and he could win the Rumble for a second year in a row. The WrestleMania 32 main event currently in the plans is Triple H vs. Roman Reigns. How WWE will execute the same is still unknown.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is bound to play a big role in the main event at WrestleMania and he will be out there to help Roman Reigns. The Authority is expected to be on the opposite side and if WWE is not careful, they could have a repetition of last year’s Royal Rumble scenario.

#4 Rumors about 2016 Hall of Fame class

Could be in the 2016 Hall of fame

Sting is the only confirmed member of the 2016 Hall of Fame class. WWE has to fill the field soon and certain names are being thrown into the mix. The Fabulous Freebirds are the most notable one from the lot. It looks like that Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, Buddy Roberts, and Jimmy Garvin will be inducted altogether this year.

We already saw the name of Vader in the rumor mill and now, the Internet is buzzing about Stan Hansen and JBL as well. No matter who gets into the list, Sting is going to headline the class. A certain portion of the fan base is also calling for the induction of recently deceased singer Lemmy.

#3 Status of Sting and his Hall of Fame induction

Sting to be inducted by Ric Flair

The match that Sting had with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions last year is apparently tagged as his last match. Sting was recently revealed as the first inductee to the Hall of Fame class of 2016 and this boosted the rumors. The Icon has a pending neck injury and this rules him out of making a wrestling appearance at WrestleMania.

Another rumor that broke out about the Hall of Fame induction of Sting is that he will be inducted by none other than Ric Flair. Flair and Sting have some long history between them and this makes Flair the right person to induct Sting.

#2 Rumors about appearance of Steve Austin at WrestleMania

Will be there

Steve Austin earlier said that he is 99 percent sure of being at WrestleMania 32. As the show is taking place in his hometown, the chance of Austin missing out is nil. Back in WrestleMania 30, Austin opened the show with The Rock and Hulk Hogan and we can only expect a segment like this.

Austin is solid about his retirement and he will not be wrestling at the WrestleMania under any circumstances. Apart from this, Austin also went out to urge WWE to bring back Goldberg. The Texas Rattlesnake wants Goldberg to have a few more matches in the company or, at least have a Hall of fame induction. WWE, however, is yet to make a statement about the same.

#1 Main roster call up for Sami Zayn

Set to main event another NXT event

As things stand now, Sami Zayn is unlikely to make a jump to the main roster before WrestleMania 32. He could be returning to NXT soon and is likely to feature in the main event for NXT Takeover: Dallas against Finn Balor.

This could be pointing towards a heel turn from Balor. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are rumoured to make their debut in NXT by March, so we might see a full blown heel turn from Balor before his showdown with Zayn.

As for the main roster call up of Zayn, WWE is planning to bring him on the night after WrestleMania.
