Backstage update on TNA's future and new TV partner, Matt Hardy vacates TNA world title

Dixie-run TNA Impact maybe off air soon

- With it being common knowledge that TNA will be off Destination America in a few months, talks within the company revolve around the show airing on another cable TV network in early 2016. As there isn’t a word yet on who the possible TV partner could be, the reality of TNA not being on TV, even if it is for a short while, is a realistic possibility.

TNA executives believe that the Destination America deal will see them through the remainder of 2015 and a new cable network will be in place in the early part of 2016.

It is rumoured that TNA is in talks with around 4 networks and one of the major networks that could be a possible TV partner for TNA is WGN America. They were in talks with the company before TNA signed with Destination America. One of the reasons why the WGN – TNA deal didn’t work out was because TNA wanted to push back the Impact premiere a few months into 2015.

- Matt Hardy announced the other day that he is vacating the TNA World Heavyweight title, that he won just a few days ago at the Bound for Glory PPV. This plays into the ‘injunction’ storyline that we reported on where former champion Ethan Carter III alleging that Dixie Carter, Matt Hardy and special guest referee Jeff Hardy conspired against him.

Hardy said he was relinquishing the title as he feels the fans deserve a fighting champion, and because of the injunction, he wouldn’t be able to be that. But he is confident that he will win the title back in the future, without controversy. According to PWInsider, this storyline has been in place since July and the situation will be furthered on Wednesday’s episode of Impact Wrestling.
