Regarding the speculations surrounding AJ Lee’s retirement, many people took notice of the picture WWE NXT Diva Bayley posted on her Instagram account during Wrestlemania week which teased the fans, leading many to believe that she could be pregnant.
There has been no official explanation provided by AJ on the matter. However, new speculations involving CM Punk and the WWE have emerged which suggest that AJ’s decision may have been based on their disputes. As reported earlier, Dr. Chris Amann of the WWE had filed a lawsuit against her husband Punk after the former superstar claimed on Colt Cabana’s podcast that Amann misdiagnosed a lump on his back which turned out to be a staph infection.
Amann retaliated by filing a lawsuit demanding more than $1 million in compensatory damages as well as an undetermined amount of punitive damages. He mentioned in his suit that Punk's claims about him were false. Cabana was included for helping Punk "falsely depict" Aman. Ultimately, it created a messed up situation between the former superstar and the company.
It was clear something was going to give sooner or later. She apparently didn't give notice until just after WrestleMania 31. The wording WWE used when announcing her departure was apparently done to protect against her attempting to go anywhere else.
